How and why Ukrainian society and the ruling elite have changed
The victory in the elections and the strengthening of the power of the Zelensky team with an unusually high confidence rating for the course of the new president surprised many and raised many questions. Why did this happen and how to explain it? The point here is not so much in Zelensky as in the current system of government in Ukraine and fooling the population.

Akhmetov and Firtash relied on the Opposition Bloc, Poroshenko had his own party of BPPs, Pinchuk and Soros promoted Vakarchuk, the Americans supported Pinzuk Yatsenyuk, Kolomoisky relied on Vozrozhdenie and his unsuccessful Ukrop project, supporting Tymoshenko . Akhmetov, as always, laid eggs in different baskets and additionally supported Poroshenko, Tymoshenko and the “Radical Party” Lyashko. Medvedchuk with his movement “Ukrainian Choice” fell out of big politics and was looking for options for return. Rabinovich on populist slogans launched his commercial project "For Life", preparing it for sale and soon successfully implemented Medvedchuk.
All these parties were not much different from each other, represented by well-known people who had repeatedly changed their political affiliation, defended the interests of the oligarchy and, having gained power by joint efforts, plundered the resources of the state and population. By the time of the fall of the Poroshenko regime, the population did not trust any of these parties and was ready to support anyone, but not these disgusting people.
The population longed for an improvement in their well-being and wanted an end to the war; they had to present new, unlit faces and promise to satisfy their wishes. Kolomoisky, being a good chess player, calculated the upcoming generational shift of the Ukrainian political elite and two years before the presidential election began to prepare for them. He launched the series “Servant of the People”, in which Zelensky played a major role and became associated in the eyes of the population with a “messiah” that could rid the people of the rule of the oligarchs and stop the war.
If Pinchuk relied on Vakurchuk, known for his Galician-peasant mentality, Kolomoisky put forward the comedian Zelensky, who is popular in the southeast and in the center and has nothing to do with politics, who skillfully criticizes any Ukrainian government from the stage. The bet turned out to be true, Zelensky, immediately after the New Year’s nomination for president, began to score points with his promises to stop the war and within a month sharply broke away from other candidates. It would seem that he did nothing specifically, and yet society believes him. How can this be explained?
Apparently, this is due to the current state of Ukrainian society and the actions of the Zelensky team that satisfy his wishes. Over the years of the reign of the Poroshenko regime, Ukrainian society has fundamentally changed; it has been duped so much that it has ceased to adequately perceive what is happening. In confirmation of this, the bodies of dead military personnel and fighters of punitive battalions, which were put on public display, were constantly coming from the combat zone to all regions of Ukraine, and all this was broadcast on television. With these actions, the society escalated an atmosphere of hatred for everything Russian.
Information came only through official media channels, authorities restricted the flow of alternative information, Russian television channels, printed matter and even the Russian segment of the Internet were blocked. After the rout of the “Russian spring”, there were practically no pro-Russian sentiments in society; any positive statements about Russia were regarded as hostile propaganda and were severely suppressed by the authorities.
In the absence of alternative information, the majority trusted this nonsense, and society was united by the efforts of the authorities to repel the "inevitable Russian aggression." In the minds of many citizens of Ukraine, Russia began to look like the fiend of hell, which will inevitably attack a defenseless Ukraine.
Nobody wanted to delve into the fact that the reason was the coup organized by the oligarchs and the seizure of power by the nationalists and Nazis, whom the American curators skillfully set against Russia. The curators needed obedient puppets who would continue Poroshenko’s policy, rob the state and continue the war. Such people were found in the person of the proteges of Kolomoisky, who are far from politics and government, who were recruited, it is ridiculous to say, on the Internet. The necessary slogans were put into their mouths, and the position of Zelensky’s team laid on fertile public soil.
It cannot be said that managed ignoramuses were in power, this is not so, the new team and their curators are working competently and have achieved impressive results. They were able to remove the previous generation of the Ukrainian elite from power and reset the monsters of the Ukrainian ruling class. From the top echelon of the previous generation, only Medvedchuk with his closest associates remained as the official opposition, as well as Avakov, who by the efforts of Kolomoisky and the Americans had so far been left in Zelensky’s team and whom this team would probably try to remove.

These are mainly people aged 30-45 years who have no experience in either economic or public administration. Almost all of them passed the school of Western funds and grants, these are the pupils of Soros - “pigs”. Mentally, they are absolutely pro-Western, they have no experience of life in the Soviet Union, and Ukraine is for them an initially independent state, not connected by any ties with Russia. For them, this is something otherworldly, and in Russia they see an enemy ready to destroy their state.
They are ambitious and sincerely believe that Ukraine should be pulled out of Russian embrace and built into European civilization. They are alien to the Galician-peasant mentality and Galician nationalism. They are convinced of the possibility of transforming Ukraine according to Western patterns into a prosperous European country. Their worldview does not rise to the level of analysis of the reasons that led Ukraine to such a deplorable state. They do not realize that Ukraine is being used as an instrument of struggle with Russia and the West do not give a damn about Ukraine. He will never invest in creating a powerful state on this territory.
A new generation from another system, they are impudent and, seeing that they can win, they become even bolder in their actions, bend their line and achieve success. They are ready to serve the puppeteers faithfully, for them Russia is the main enemy and every effort should be made to weaken the enemy. At the same time, they clearly understood that Ukraine cannot survive without economic ties with Russia, and they are trying to build these relations, excluding any political interaction and any alliances.
The level of trust in the new generation of the Ukrainian elite in society is extremely high. This is due to the fact that Ukrainian society, in which the level of expectation and social optimism is very high, has matured by the arrival of a new generation of elite. The population, as manna from heaven, is waiting for an improvement in living conditions and hopes for a "messiah" who will come and do everything right, and in Ukraine there will come almost an earthly paradise.
The world outlook and mentality of the modern Ukrainian population over the years has changed a lot, life priorities have also changed, it has become more pragmatic and seeks to look in the direction where it is more profitable. Ukropropaganda has done its job and in many ways erased the general history, and drove into the heads of myths and legends about the "great Ukrainian nation", which has always fought against the Russian occupation.
In many ways, we have become strangers, they recall with dislike the joint Russian and Soviet past and focus not on Russia but on the West. Ukrainian society is gradually becoming west-oriented and believes that only the West can protect it from Russian aggression.
There was no one to rely on the population among the Ukrainian elites, and then a young team of reformers brought up in the West appeared, which promises to solve all their problems. New faces say the right words and the West almost carries them in their arms.
So from the dummy created the image of the "savior of the nation." Zelensky’s team and Ukrainian society have found each other and so far enjoy themselves with rapture. The hangover will be all the worse when everything collapses and it turns out that the king is completely naked and is not capable of anything.
