At the Yantar Shipyard, the deadlines for launching the Almaz vessel of the 22010 project were announced
The Almaz vessel is the second vessel of the 22010 project being built at the Baltic Yantar Shipyard and the first serial vessel after the main Yantar vessel. The 22010 project was initiated by the Ministry of Defense in the interests of the Main Directorate for Deepwater Research. The lead ship is named after the manufacturer Yantar, the second ship of the project is named after the design bureau that developed the project, Almaz.
The lead oceanographic research vessel Yantar was handed over to the Russian Navy in 2016, at the same time the first production Almaz was launched.
Displacement of "Diamond" will be 5200 tons, hull length - 108,1 meters, width - 17,2 meters. Cruising range - 8000 miles, speed - 15 knots, autonomy - 60 days, crew - 60 people.
Unlike the lead vessel, Almaz lost its helipad, but it will accommodate two more deep-sea vehicles on it. The deep-sea vehicles Mir-1 and Mir-2, which were formerly located on the academic vessel Akademik Mstislav Keldysh, will join the crewless autonomous vehicles of the Rus and Consul class.
The main purpose of the 22010 project vessel is to study the oceans, including the bottom at great depths. It can also be used for rescue purposes, the equipment installed on it will allow you to search for sunken objects on the sea and ocean floor.
It was previously reported that the transfer of the Almaz oceanographic research vessel to the customer was due to take place this year. The ship will serve as part of the Pacific fleet.
