Hard drives stolen from Indian aircraft carrier under construction

Computer hard drives have been stolen from the newest Indian aircraft carrier Vikrant, which should become a replacement for the Viraat aircraft carrier that was finalizing its resource. The ship is the first ship of this class to be entirely Indian-built.
The incident, in which the Indian security system showed its complete helplessness, occurred at Cochin shipyards. Hard drives were stolen from the first Indian aircraft carrier. A special investigation team was formed to investigate the incident, the work of which was taken under the control of a local police commissioner.
According to officials, hard drives from four computers were stolen. Despite the fact that cameras were installed in the premises under construction, surveillance sensors were not installed on the aircraft carrier itself.
The exact date of the theft of the hard drives is unknown: computers were brought aboard the 28 aircraft carrier in August. Also, representatives of the Indian Navy claim that there was no confidential information on the discs.
The design work on the Vikrant aircraft carrier began in the 1999 year. The ship itself was laid in 2009. The Indian Navy expects that by 2023, the aircraft carrier will complete the tests and go into operation.
