Croatian missile boat "Vukovar" caught fire during repairs

14
The other day, a fire broke out on a missile boat of the Croatian Navy RTOP-41 Vukovar, the country's Ministry of Defense said.

The incident happened at the facilities of the Iskra shipyard located in Sibenik. As noted, the fire began at a time when repair work was being carried out on the 1985 vessel of the assembly year.

The crew members present at the scene of the incident drew attention to the fire and, thanks to prompt action, dragged the ship worker out of the room where the repairs were being carried out. Sailors and arrived crews managed to extinguish the flame, according to a separate statement from the local fire department.

As a result of the accident, three people were hospitalized in a local hospital due to smoke poisoning. The fire caused property damage, as indicated in the defense department. An investigation into the causes of the incident has been launched.

Launched at the Finnish shipyard Vyartsilya “Vukovar” (FNS 62 Oulu), reaching a length of 45 m, was part of the local Navy before its sale to the Croatian the fleet in 2008. The boat belongs to the Helsinki type, its displacement is 300 tons. The main weapons are missiles RBS-15. In total, four vessels of this model were released, two of them were scrapped, two were sold by Croatia.

The country's Navy does not have large ships, the main striking power of the fleet is represented by missile and patrol boats of the Kral, Kochar, Helsinki and Mirna type. Vukovar is a city in eastern Croatia. This settlement was the scene of the fighting that followed the collapse of Yugoslavia.

The myth of super-enlightened Europe is still alive.
Well, then it happens, it's okay, production costs.

This is not the case. For example, enlightened European Croatia turned to no less enlightened and no less European Ukraine to repair the Mig-21 squadron and how do you think this whole thing ended? Not enlightened and not European Mig-21 boycotted enlightened Europe and began to fall. It was decided to decommunize them. That's it. The costs of decommunization. It happens.

The name of the boat is interesting. The first association is a recent television advertisement for the Wook-Wook tool. As you name the ship, it will sail.

The name "Vukovar" comes from the Serbian and Croatian "Vuk" (wolf) and the Hungarian "Var" (castle). At this point, the Vuka River flows into the Danube. The fighting in 1991 was serious there, after which the Croats lost control of the city until 1998. Despite the final fall of the city, the defense of Vukovar was crucial in the defense of the Croats of Eastern Slavonia. The battle caused a patriotic upsurge in Croatia, now in almost every Croatian city there is a street named after him, and the city has become known as the “Croatian Stalingrad”.https: //ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buketa_Vukovar
It is clear that the Croats and the ship named "Vukovar".

This is not a ship to blame, but a violation of the rules of firing. Simply put, sloppiness.

I remember that the Yugoslavs used to build good submarines, frigates, missile boats themselves. The vocation of the majority of "new formations" (newly-made "independent" states in the post-Soviet space) is to rid European and American landfills of rubbish.
