Indian Air Force received a second aircraft DRLOi U "Nepra" national development
As stated in the Indian military department, the Netra system installed by the Development Center aviation CABS systems aboard the Brazilian Embraer EMB-145 aircraft provides reconnaissance and target detection in the 240-degree sector at ranges from 250 to 375 km. It includes active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, secondary surveillance radar, electronic intelligence, satellite communications, advanced means of identifying friend or foe. The aircraft is capable of simultaneously detecting several types of targets, including missiles, fighters and Drones, as well as act as a control center to support air defense operations. The aircraft is integrated with the Air Force's recently commissioned integrated command and control system.
ERJ-145 aircraft is capable of being in the air for up to 5 hours at one gas station, for a longer flight the aircraft is equipped with an air refueling system. In addition, it has a self-defense kit with a missile attack warning system and radar warning receivers.
The first plane was handed over to the Indian Ministry of Defense in 2017, the second was also planned for transfer in the same year, but was postponed due to the modification of equipment at the request of the military. According to experts, the Netra program is behind the schedule by 7-8 years due to various problems.
