The Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation is actively modernizing and strengthening the Russian Armed Forces with modern and improved models of equipment and weapons. This also applies to the development of the Navy. fleetplaying a significant role in protecting the interests of our country on the world stage.

Corvettes - workhorses of the Russian Navy

Today, the implementation of complex combat missions in different parts of the World Ocean, as well as ensuring the protection of Russia's interests is impossible without corvette class warships.

The corvette can be called the workhorse of all the naval forces of the world. It protects naval bases from enemy submarines and aviationguards borders and escorts transport workers. Unlike frigates, aircraft carriers and cruisers, a corvette is a mass product. There should be a lot of them in the fleet.

20380 project is the first in the latest stories our corvette. The number of ships of this project in our fleet is constantly growing. Moreover, the corvettes of the new 20385 project appear. The responsibility of the 20385 project corvettes includes both the near and far sea zones, including the ocean. Today it is the most armed corvette ship in the world. That amount weapons, the latest tracking and observation systems with such a limited displacement on corvettes do not have any other country in the world.

For the program "Military Acceptance" on "TC Star" this will be an excellent occasion to get acquainted in detail with ships of this class. Spectators will see the unique footage of the 20385 project “Thundering” entering the sea, for them they will take a tour of the Severnaya Verf shipyard, where these ships are being built. In addition, in this issue they will see an exclusive interview with Oleg Ryazantsev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, who will talk about how hard shipbuilders were in the era of sanctions, how they managed to recreate their domestic production, and also share plans for the long term.

Patrons like Bykov have limited tasks and took them to patrol in international waters. They cannot replace project 20380.

and vice versa! this time, and I did not write that they replace them, but the workhorses are the patrolmen and not otherwise!

You see corvettes as a separate unit of the fleet. Each ship class has its own mission and capabilities. As in "Fishing in Russian" - "I can sink an aircraft carrier too ... if I'm lucky" ... So, as a watchdog, this project is very good.
But ... our sailors sin by stuffing as much weapons as possible into them, which is not entirely good. The race for versatility sometimes harms. Yes, this project is the most armed corvette in the world, but it can serve him poorly. There should be a balance and a clear understanding of why they are needed and what tasks they will be assigned.

I completely agree and I understand that, I would say that the corvettes 2380 (85) should be of two types: 1st - PLO-PVO and 2nd shock-PVO, and when they build a death star it is very harmful ((!!

No other country in the world has such a quantity of weapons, the latest tracking and surveillance systems with such a limited displacement on corvettes.

In general, the warships of the USSR were distinguished by the fact that they were armed "to the teeth"! For objective reasons.

Well ship rearmament = also bad. However, historically, from the 19 century, Russia wanted to compete with others, but the money / production capabilities did not allow this. Therefore, relative to other ships, they were rather heavily overloaded with weapons (well, here the backlog in the industry affected, unfortunately by the 07-10 years, it was critical).
So - this can be said features of the ship's school.

Objective reasons ... not even threatening anyone, although if you had the opportunity to defend in full!
It may not be the best solution, but it was simply necessary to designate "DON'T TRIP ME" so clearly.

They were still distinguished by a huge crew. Now the world is also trying to stuff ships in full, but at the same time they play an important role in automation and reducing the crew, improving the living conditions on the ship - habitability.

Automation, robotization .... the next stage will come, they themselves will think and carry out! AI, however, is knocking on the door ..... probably.

To build a fleet for the sake of industry, letting go of a series of what’s got just because it’s what’s got did manage to be designed and built - that's strong,

Such an approach is not without meaning: at least the industry has a load due to which it (the industry) stays afloat and does not lose experience and personnel. And there, you see, in the distant bright future, they will design something more interesting.

Well, at least the task is "not to let the military shipbuilding completely die." With the tasks of the level "to drive pirates and poachers" - too, although "Caliber" here is clearly superfluous.

Is not a fact. Well, it will not die so degrading. It depends on what the pirates and poachers will be armed with (a pair of ATGMs and 12,7mm browning will be enough to send these drivers to the bottom.

In out, the construction of large warships. But the revival of the fleet should not begin with the construction of an aircraft carrier, as some people think - its construction is the crown of a developed fleet. Therefore, construction programs have given priority to creating a powerful fleet of the near sea zone, which we need first of all to cover our sea border. Therefore, all facilities are engaged in the construction of auxiliary military vessels (tugboats, rescuers, tankers, diving, reconnaissance, etc.)

What garbage you wrote, it’s better not to build a fleet at all than to cost something that will not be able to complete a combat mission.

And how many Corvette class ships are needed and how many are there at the moment? It is somehow very enthusiastic, given that the constructed corvettes of this project are more under repair due to breakdowns of the power plant than they go to sea.

    Is this about corvettes?
For the oceans they have seaworthiness and autonomy, usually lame

A piece of 20 corvettes for each fleet will be the most. Plus 5 frigates per fleet. All this will make it possible to secure the sea borders of Russia.
