The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation received a regiment set of S-400

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation received the first since the beginning of this year regimental set of anti-aircraft missile system C-400. The kit was delivered ahead of schedule, the press service of the East Kazakhstan Concern Almaz-Antey reports.

The concern’s press service noted that before the transfer to the customer, all the equipment was displayed at the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan Region, where test firing and “flying around with real air targets” were carried out. Acceptance tests were successful. This is the first regiment kit handed over to the Ministry of Defense this year.

It is assumed that this regiment kit will go into service with the 1536-th anti-aircraft missile order of the Red Star of the Don Cossack Regiment, which is deployed in Rostov-on-Don. In August of this year, the regiment went on exercises at the Kapustin Yar training ground.

As previously reported, in 2018, five regiments were re-equipped at the S-400 air defense system - four from the VKS and one from the North fleet.

SAM S-400 "Triumph" is designed to destroy strategic and tactical aircraft aviation, ballistic missiles, hypersonic targets and other means of air attack in the conditions of electronic and other types of counteraction.
