USA to supply 500 light armored vehicles M1278A1 Heavy Guns Carrier to Lithuania

JLTV 4x4 in the M1278A1 Heavy Guns Carrier modification with the M153 CROWS combat module

The U.S. Department of Defense Military Cooperation Agency sent a notice to the U.S. Congress about the upcoming upcoming sale of 500 light armored vehicles to Lithuania by JLTV. This supply has already been approved by the US State Department and is estimated at 170,8 million dollars.

The vehicles planned for delivery to Lithuania will be equipped with M153 Common Remote Weapon Stations (CROWS) remotely controlled combat modules with 12,7-mm M2 QCB machine guns and round-the-clock M230 TAC-FLIR sighting systems. The agreement provides for the supply of spare parts for armored vehicles and training of personnel of the Lithuanian army.

In Lithuania, they confirmed their intention to acquire American armored cars, but stated that they would like to purchase only 200 of such vehicles. This was announced on August 28 by the Deputy Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Gedrimas Jeglinskas.

Due to the fact that the US government is lighting the green light for Lithuania in the acquisition of 200 Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) armored vehicles, we are moving to bilateral coordination of the development of the contract. We intend to sign it before the end of this year.

- he said.

It was previously reported that Lithuania intends to allocate about 2020 million euros during the 2024-142 period for the purchase and maintenance of 200 JLTV machines. Negotiations on the purchase of JLTV have been conducted by Lithuania with the American side since the end of the 2017 year.

Lithuania is likely to become the second foreign customer of JLTV machines after Slovenia, as previously these machines were supplied only to the US Army.

200 would be enough to fit and take out the entire Lithuanian army. But the United States can be understood - you sell more, you get more money or something significant by barter, but you still have to pay the money. .

      read on warspot.ru
On February 26, armytimes.com reported that the US Department of Defense’s latest report found the new armored SUV “unsuitable for use due to deficiencies in reliability, maintainability, training, manuals, crew situational awareness and safety.”

200 would be enough to fit and take out the entire Lithuanian army.

They create BHVT at our side, and you are trying to ulcerate. Then they will transfer the meat on civilian aircraft, and the equipment is already in pairs.

That is why future "forest lads" need armored cars? Cook more efficiently. But seriously, many people consider the purchase of all this crap even in the Baltics inexplicably meaningless for the local specifics.

Quite a suitable armor jeep, at least many Saudis were not allowed to prematurely go to court with Allah during the attacks of the Hussites.

The Lithuanians just don’t need it, they used the Mercedes-Benz GD enough to carry the backs of local generals.

Do not understand. At today's exchange rate, 142 euro lemas amount to 157,62 lemon bass.
So: for 200 cars - 157,62, and for 500 - as much as 170,8 lyam. It turns out that 300 cars for as much as 13 million. Interesting girls are dancing. I would rather believe that for 200 cars - 170 lemons.

Yes, they don’t have so many people in the army to equip these vehicles with manpower. lol
But seriously, it could be a knight's move. Under the guise of helping our opposing neighbors, we are just saturating the borders close to us with various military equipment, in order to simply put our soldiers forward at one o'clock.
