Indian Air Force Received Last Boeing C-17A Globemaster III Aircraft

The Indian Air Force has adopted the eleventh heavy military transport aircraft Boeing C-17A Globemaster III. As reported in the representative office of Boeing Corporation in India, this C-17A was the last aircraft of this type, delivered to India by contract.

Indian Air Force Received Last Boeing C-17A Globemaster III Aircraft

The contract for the supply of the Indian Air Force of ten heavy military transport aircraft Boeing C-17A Globemaster III was concluded in June 2011 year. The cost of delivering aircraft through the US Intergovernmental Military Sales Foreign Military Sales (FMS) amounted to 4,7 billion dollars. Under the agreement, India received aircraft in 2013-2014 years. In addition, an option was provided for the supply of six additional C-17A, but it was not implemented due to the cessation of mass production of these aircraft in the 2015 year. According to Boeing Corporation, India simply did not have time to implement it.

However, India was able to acquire another aircraft manufactured in the 2014 year already in the 2017 year, because for unknown reasons it was not delivered to any well-known customer and was stored at the Boeing facility in Long Beach. A notice of its possible delivery was sent to the US Congress back in 2017, and it was delivered only now.

Thus, to date, the Air Force has eleven Boeing C-17A Globemaster III military transport aircraft. All of them are in service with the 81 Squadron at Hindon Air Base near Ghaziabad.

Interestingly, the Boeing went on principle, and even for the money did not build aircraft for the Indians? ?? Something new in the world of capital. .. belay

While some turbaned, thoughtfully scratching and dancing around the money pod, others simply stopped releasing planes. The Indians had to buy the last plane lost in the warehouse for 300 and a half million dead raccoons. hi

Not. Decisions are made ahead of time and areas are redeveloped / employees are transferred to other sites / factories / are fired.

This is not canned food - but the closure of production is complete. Roughly speaking, when the last plane was in 12, the workshops closed behind it and the equipment was dismantled. To resume production with this approach is very expensive and unprofitable on 6 aircraft.

Now, if the Boeing chose conservation and hung the line for a year or two, then they would have returned and completed the 6 cars.

In the USA, plants are not dismantled, but canned. The 747's, F-14 factory stands intact. The plant that manufactured Saturn-1 waited for Ilona Mask, which Saturn turned into Falcon.
The S-17 plant will stand idle for 20 years - it will be used for repair and modernization.

The contract has been completed. And an additional option is not a contract, but a wish and intention. Well, Boeing no longer produces such airplanes. And for the sake of five pieces for the Indians, is it necessary to start the reconfigured conveyor again?

I remember how the LIS platform in Tashkent was filled with "Indian" boards. These have always saved on repairs. As buyers, they are still scumbags, so let the Americans have gesheft and smut from them! Indians will exhaust all your nerves! It's good at least that now God has punished them a little for the brakes! ))) Amen!
