Russian flag raised in Donetsk provoked indignation in Kiev
98
The authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic decided to connect the DPR to the celebration of the State Flag Day in Russia. In gratitude from the residents of Donbass to Russia for the assistance and support rendered, it was decided to raise the Russian tricolor above the central square and in other areas of Donetsk. He will flutter over Lenin Square all day - until the end of Russian state holiday.
According to the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, the Russian flag is a symbol of the struggle against the Kiev regime, which (the regime) tried in Donetsk to enforce laws and orders that are alien to local residents.
Denis Pushilin:
This flag for us is a symbol of struggle, a symbol of freedom, a symbol of victory and reunion with Russia.
In Ukraine, they could not leave this event without comment. Radicals and representatives of the authorities and the media were swept by a wave of emotions and indignation.
The Ukrainian blogosphere was immediately called on to "stop any negotiations and proceed with the liberation of Donetsk." Especially radical representatives of the Ukrainian elites are already demanding that President Vladimir Zelensky “mobilize forces and means.” Also in Kiev, it was stated that in connection with the "incident", it is necessary to convene a meeting of the UN Security Council. Apparently, in Kiev they forget that Ukraine does not have the right to convene such meetings for the simple reason that it is not a member of the United Nations Security Council.
