Russia launched the Soyuz MS-14 transport manned spacecraft with one crew member to the ISS - robot FEDOR. The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket took place this morning from the Baikonur cosmodrome.
The Russian Soyuz-2.1 launch vehicle launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in 6: 38 Moscow time. vr. The manned spacecraft entered orbit, opened the solar panels and went to the ISS. Soyuz MS-14 will only approach the station in two days, docking, despite the fact that the robot is on board, will happen automatically. It is scheduled for Saturday at 8: 30 Moscow time. vr.
Launched to the ISS, Soyuz MS-14 will deliver to the station the only crew member - the android robot FEDOR, which previously received the call sign Skybot F-850. He will spend two weeks at the ISS, during which a series of experiments will be carried out with his help, including the ability to perform work in places not suitable for finding a person. The return to earth is scheduled for September 7.
According to Roscosmos, this is the first launch of a manned spacecraft using the Soyuz-2.1 launch vehicle with a Russian digital control system. Previously, all manned launches were carried out using Soyuz-FG missiles, which used an analog control system made in Ukraine. Currently, Roscosmos has only one Soyuz-FG launch vehicle, after the launch of which Russia will completely switch to Soyuz-2.1.
