The name of Alexander Vasilievich Suvorov is inscribed in history Russia as a great military tactician and strategist, who took a place among the greatest commanders of world history and had extraordinary abilities in military affairs. Suvorov, representing a historical phenomenon, is known for not losing a single battle. His brilliant victories strengthened the power of Russia in the last quarter of the 18 century. Leadership art and the military system of training and education of Suvorov determined the vector of the development of military art not only in Russia, but also in Western Europe.
Unfortunately, today the name of the Russian commander actually disappeared from the pages of Ukrainian history textbooks and school curricula. School books lack those chapters that describe the assault on the Izmail fortress, as well as other victories of Suvorov. For independent Ukraine, which arose on the ruins of the Soviet Union, the name of Suvorov was a stranger, the memory of his victorious battles is destroyed. But it was precisely thanks to the victory of Suvorov, who took the fortress of Ishmael and defeated the fleet of the Ottoman Empire, that Turkey forever abandoned its claims to the vast territories of New Russia and the Crimea.
Such an attitude to Suvorov is not the first time that history seems to be trying to test the great merits and glory of the legendary Russian commander. But every time when they forgot about Suvorov, Russia suffered defeats, when they remembered it, our country won major military victories. Only in modern Ukraine is the variant of "major military victories" linked exclusively to the shelling of its own compatriots. What would the legendary Suvorov say in this case ...
