Zelensky, Kolomoisky, Avakov. Three in a boat, not counting Poroshenko
Shadow power
But even in the shade, the government in Ukraine is acting, and we see its achievements: ex-president Poroshenko flew away on an urgent vacation with his whole family outside of Ukraine. As the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov prophetically said before the presidential election upon returning from a business trip to Washington, “a new political cycle is beginning”, and now the first swallow of this cycle has flown, there will be others.
His American friend, special representative Kurt Volker, played some role in the hasty departure for Poroshenko’s vacation, but other persons created the conditions for this vacation, so that by the time Volcker arrived, he had already withdrawn millions of cash from his accounts and booked a charter flight. Perhaps he wanted to say goodbye to his friend Walker in order to receive the last instructions?
When Poroshenko left, Avakov broke out on Facebook that “you need to finish Poroshenko not out of lawlessness,” which means that you considered the option “out of lawlessness” somewhere? Therefore, Poroshenko so urgently flew away? He will probably never return either to the Movement, or to the army, or to faith; only English will remain with him.
Triumvirate
If you recall the course of the presidential campaign, you come to the conclusion that in Ukraine, in the new political cycle, the triumvirate came to power: Zelensky - Kolomoisky - Avakov. The victory of Vladimir Zelensky in the presidential race is closely connected with the last two figures.
The fugitive oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who is Poroshenko’s best enemy, immediately returns to Ukraine after Zelensky’s victory in the elections, the media make him the puppet master Zelensky. He makes “separatist” (about the civil war in the Donbass) and even anti-American statements in the press, and he gets away with it. Business relations of Kolomoisky and ex-showman Zelensky are well known.
The long-standing warm relations of Igor Kolomoisky and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov are also known, which Igor Valerievich bluntly called the stabilizing factor in Ukraine during the inter-presidential period. The hostile relations of Avakov and Poroshenko, who immediately saw the hand of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately after the criminal prosecution of lawyer Andrei Portnov, are well known.
The newly elected president Zelensky publicly thanked Interior Minister Avakov for organizing the protection of his family. What was it for? On the eve of the presidential election, police in front of the cottage village where the Zelensky family lives, covered a pickup truck with militants and a heavy machine gun; They explained to the public that the militants were hunting for a criminal authority who lives in the same village, what a coincidence ...
Not publicly, President Ze probably thanked Avakov for ensuring a “safe and fair presidential election”: without the force support of the National Guard Avakov would not have been able to see Zelensky’s presidential chair, but even today this chair is supported by Avakov from behind.
A common enemy that unites
So, in the current situation Zelensky, Kolomoisky and Avakov are united by a great dislike for Poroshenko. He usurped all power in Ukraine, removing all of his 2014 VIP accomplices from taking any more or less significant decisions, including Kolomoisky, Avakov and others. They supported Zelensky against Poroshenko, and when they also received overseas support from Trump, Poroshenko’s fate was a foregone conclusion.
Another question: how durable is the new imperious triumvirate? Of course, he is situational. Leaks appeared in the media about the friction between Avakov and the president’s office, specifically with his head Andrei Bogdan, and rumors were even circulating about Avakov’s resignation from the post of head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On the other hand, there were leaks about Avakov’s possible premiership.
The "premier" rumor about Avakov went right after the arrival of Kurt Volker in Kiev. The reason for him was allegedly a letter from Sati Kahkonen, director of World Bank, to Volcker, in which Sati reports that "all previous agreements with the Minister of Internal Affairs Avakov on his nomination as prime minister remain valid." She asks Kurt to help Avakov, as he will become the guarantor of the return of loans issued to Ukraine.
Of course, there is a suspicion that it was Volker who leaked Poroshenko a letter to Sati Kakhkonen for publication and a scandal that was not slow to follow. True, Volker’s letter asked to help Avakov, not Poroshenko, however, World Bank declared Sati’s letter to be false, but who could carry out this forgery?
However, all these are just words. While the common enemy of the triumvirate, Poroshenko, has not been finally defeated, and he has not yet been defeated, but only taken to flight, the unifying ties of the triumvirate are unlikely to seriously threaten anything.
