The dangers of digitalization - a look from the USA

34
21 century can rightly be considered the heyday of digitalization, which is the product of scientific and technological progress.

Today, digitalization has become a global process, daily subordinating not only our planet, but also the space that is beyond its borders (talking about the digitalization of space, where modern people could “reach out”). This phenomenon has affected the most important spheres of society, from economics and business to education, medicine, construction and agriculture.

As many researchers have noted, this process will not stop in the future, but will grow every year and develop exponentially.

However, not all people today are inspired by the penetration of the "digit" into the daily life of a person.

Which side of this process is worth paying closer attention to? What aspects of it are the most dangerous?

Irina Mukhina, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, international lecturer and consultant on Big Data, will answer these questions. Relying on both professional and personal experience of life in the West, she will tell you why you need to be especially careful where digitalization and children are. The development of communications, humanity itself can turn into a “digital funnel”.

Everything is good in moderation. For communication, a simple mobile phone, for the Internet a computer or laptop. Smartphones, especially for children, are generally banned. But no one will give it, this is business.

If Boeing sculpts do digitalization, this leads to disasters with many casualties. If from Lockheed - to the sky-ready fighters ... Well and so on. And if your hands grow from where you need it and your head is capable of doing something besides commercials, then there are no problems at all ...

Something else is said here. This refers to the influence of "numbers" on immature young minds, and on middle-aged (also not too strong). Yes, progress is an irreversible phenomenon (dill does not count), but this is where the most dumb moment arises. Indeed, even now one can observe in many people the development of "digital dependence" in various variations (special cases - gadgetomania, gambling addiction). And the development of this very dependence sharply reduces the social and household immunity of a person (survival). Example: I happened to observe citizens rushing about in a slight panic due to the fact that Wi-Fi temporarily disappeared in the metro lobby (there were exercises of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB laughing). On the one hand, it delivered, on the other - it became sad. After all, if it goes on like this, then over time people will be afraid to go into "non-digital" toilets ... The result will not be slow to manifest itself. wassat Okay, let's see how humanity is ready to meet with "space" in everyday life. hi

what's wrong with that? 50 years ago, or how many people there were doing fine without cell TV, and so on, and did not feel any discomfort. and 100 years ago they lived without light and everything was fine. and wifi in the subway is easy here. . you have a clear schedule. every day you know how much time and where you spend. I planned for this time, for example, to read something or someone is teaching languages. and then a bummer. on the one hand it’s not fatal, but on the other hand, for example, I hate to catch up. a person gets used to the benefits of the modern world. and the world gives them. I retrained my parents for a year from a regular TV set-top box via the Internet) now offer them to bite them back))) who could imagine 30 years ago that young people just playing their favorite games would get decent money and that would be quite a job for themselves. or journalism will be available to any talented person without education just by working with your favorite topics on YouTube or blogs? and you also earn decently on this? the world is changing, it's just that we are already starting to lag behind him)

You know, sometimes it is useful to slow down a little, look around and assess the situation. I mean that in pursuit of "digitalization" you should not forget about "natural" skills, because an addict should consider himself a hostage.

Definitely, because this is after all a parental duty, and the children will definitely not get worse from this. And yes, the time saved on your own child, according to karmic laws, is automatically deducted from the life of the parents. hi

Have you ever been asked a question, for example, why are the salaries in each country different for the same job? Tell me the standard of living is different. Well, maybe ... then why are apartments in one country priced differently in different populated lands? Why do people hunch back at work day and night in order to pay for services, eat, and perhaps like to relax at sea in a third-rate hotel, for the pennies they are paid?
The example of the USSR is very revealing. In no case do I hai the country in which I was born. But look ... people worked, they received 150-200 rubles a month, when the car cost from 5000 and higher. A TV, imported furniture, carpets, let’s say it was a middle class luxury. And as if everyone was happy. The state gave free housing in communal apartments, hostels or something of a small type, like an apartment in Khrushchev. What am I saying this ... THE SYSTEM will never give an opportunity to a hardworking man to live as he wants, according to his own rules, while not needing anything. It’s like in a saying, the state gives a person a salary so that he can buy himself something to eat, but so much that he cannot buy a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
And returning to our rams, I will say that the USA is generally the citadel of the SYSTEM, where everything is geared towards making a person plow like a damned one and all he had to do was pay loans and eat junk food. Like little gears of one big mechanism. And while a person is busy making money in order not to die and it is possible to buy "puppy joy" such as an iPhone, which is priced at a cost of $ 3, and the selling price is all 800, while not asking unnecessary questions, the SYSTEM is flourishing. And such a world SYSTEM has been grazing us like a shepherd for at least 100 years, making sure that not a single sheep strays from the flock.

Partly agree, Andrew. Perhaps one important point is forgotten: people - they are all different. This is to the fact that people have very different requests: someone is ready to be content with little, and someone needs everything and
preferably immediately, regardless of their own capabilities. And so, just at the services of the latter, the designated system is instantly available, which, in an unctuous voice of a bank employee, offers to "fulfill your dreams immediately with a couple of clicks or one call, yeah. And then ... Yes So it turns out that the majority are ready to voluntarily surrender to the system. By the way, this applies to "bohemians" in the same way, perhaps, adjusted for the level. In short, as one officer's daughter used to say, not everything is so simple.
P.S. And not everything is so sad - we still hang out. And therefore: put aside the sadness and longing and keep your nose in the wind. hi

I listened, though not much, because such "revelations" are a dime a dozen, and everyone sees what he sees. But a person does not always see what others see. I say: everyone is different, and not all are subject to the herd instinct, but it is precisely these "renegades" that the system will hunt with special zeal. hi

It's not for nothing that I showed this video. Reading here on VO comments about - "HOW IS EVERYTHING WONDERFUL IN THE US WITH LIFE", I listened to this person, who, by and large, does not need to lie. And on YouTube there are just a dozen of "revelations" about how wonderful life is there and that everyone can grab the American dream by the tail.
Moreover, this person has lived in this SYSTEM for more than 20 years. Plowed for 12 hours, chased this same American dream. And I grabbed it, but ... the dream turned out to be a man-hairy black man with a large reproductive organ, which, in fact, dreamers are chasing, dreaming of grabbing. It's me figuratively, if that.

Hmm ... I have never watched Internet videos, this one looked, and realized that it was not worth watching either. A woman who left for Canada a quarter of a century ago speaks about the reform of the education system carried out in Russia, then about an experiment in China, as a result of which, as she suggests, non-loyal citizens will sit longer in line for an appointment with a doctor !!! Then there was an outright fiction about the cards of schoolchildren in Russia. There are cards. They really can be used to go to school and pay for lunch in the school canteen or cafeteria. Very convenient, by the way. Nowhere else can you pay with this card! However, the woman sees some kind of danger in this. Well, further on, most of the video is a discussion of the dire consequences of the future development of these technologies. Not existing technologies, but technologies that will appear later. Yes, there are common thoughts about personal data leakage, but this data in different ways and so gets to those who need it. Well, a little further, the interlocutor of this woman starts up "old songs about the main thing" as "our corrupt government will sell this data" right and left. Another delirium. Well, when it comes to Satanism ... No, I have not watched videos from YouTube before and will not continue. I already said that YouTube is still a garbage dump, now I am convinced of this once again.

This is not the first publication on VO on the topic of digitalization.
The farther into the forest - the ...
It seems that the term, which originally had a (possibly) some intelligible meaning, turned into a label that can be glued to anything - in accordance with the mood of the sticker.
For example, the transition from analog to digital computers - is it digitalization? Launch DVBT - is it it? Payment by plastic card instead of coin / token / composter - from the same song?
It is clear that all these processes carried and will still bring threats to the health and intelligence of future generations. What can you expect from tablets with smartphones!
And then there are smart refrigerators with tricky pots and treacherous vacuum cleaners ... Down with digitalization, the death of industrialization, the anathema of electrification ...
    Damn, somewhere it already sounded!

So I am about the same.
Having presented the child with a tablet, you can immediately install the reader there and download not only books from the school curriculum, but also those that "do not let you go" since childhood. And read them together.
Or you can just give him anlim-internet plus CNN subscription - maybe he’ll grow up smart, move to London and then pick up mom and dad.

You can give a soldering iron, a handful of 155 series microcircuits (arduino will do for now, but this is not a fact) and spend a couple of evenings together trying to create something workable, even with zero practical functionality. Anything better than tamagotchi with spinners.

For older children, you can continue to digitalize: on one of the ancient flash drives, I have both parts of the film "Ordinary Fascism".
