Dog work: four-legged friends on guard
Alma mater quadrupeds
470-th training center service dog breeding of the Armed Forces of Russia is known throughout the world. It includes the kennel "Red Star", where unique breeds of dogs are breeding. History The kennel started back in the 20s of the last century, when it was still small and contained only 40 dogs. During its existence, the center of service dog breeding has been constantly developing. Its graduates went through World War II, Afghanistan, Chechnya and dozens of other military conflicts.
Dogs are divided into groups by the nature of their activities, mainly guard and guard breeds, but among them there are also sappers, signalers and medical orderlies. In the nursery you can even find unique breeds of four-legged. For example, the Russian black terrier. The breed was bred back in 50-s, crossing a giant schnauzer, Airedale Terrier and Rottweiler. From the first terrier got the appearance - black color and long hair, from the second - a powerful body, and from the third - absolute fearlessness. But it is worth noting that such a breed can be trained only in the hands of an experienced dog handler.
Furry fighters attack
The “Polygon” program team of the TV channel “T24” decided to watch the training of the well-known German shepherd dog. The main feature of this breed is that it can easily change its owner, which is important for employees of the patrol service. By the way, in the nursery you can meet the East-European Shepherd, to put it in the language of a motorist, the "restyled" version of the usual one. They are larger and quieter than the latter.
For training the dog handler uses a special sleeve, which is designed to hone the skills of good grasp in dogs. Of course, when an enraged dog rushes headlong at you, the thought involuntarily arises, “but will he really bite at the sleeve, and not at the throat, for example”? Training to beat the limbs first is justified, because it is usually in the hands of the attacker weapon.
For watch and guard dogs, body weight sometimes plays a crucial role. It is worth telling here about one more breed that was born by crossing five dogs: a Caucasian and a German Shepherd, a Russian Pinto Hound, a Russian Hound, and a St. Bernard. Moscow Watchdog is a good-natured giant with a melancholic look and a strongly developed watchdog instinct.
It is worth noting that when selecting a service tandem, it is necessary to take into account the psycho-physiological compatibility of the military and the dog, because the latter also have their own unique character and temperament. By the way, they try to train four-legged fighters in groups so that the reflex of imitation joins in the dogs, and they are more willing to repeat the actions of their fellows.
Mine-searching four-legged craftsmen
If the dog kennel is a kind of nursery or elementary school, then the 66-th Training Center for Engineering Troops is already a specialized educational institution. From Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, from the Marine Corps to the engineering troops - everyone needs mine search dogs. Here, on the basis of the center, the four-legged fighters from the “Red Star” will mature and strengthen in the course of the 3-s monthly course. The center consists of a town mine search service, where pets are directly kept in special enclosures. Although the dog is taught the same substance as trotyl, nevertheless 80% of graduates are able to find other substances, such as plastids, hexogen, even without retraining. Moreover, the animal is able to find explosives at depths up to 30, see
By the way, mine-searching dogs are forbidden to use with mortar strikes, as well as when covering the grass 30-40, see, as there may be stretch marks and other unpleasant surprises that dogs may not notice. For example, in Syria, terrorists used other distracting factors: in the area of mining, they crushed trotyl and threw tobacco.
In the process of filming the program, the presenter of “Polygon” even managed to take part in the “True Loyal” competition of military dog trainers. The competition included the 4 stages: an individual race (it’s a dog biathlon), an obstacle for a while, a defensive service when the dog shows its protective properties, and the fourth, the most spectacular, is the team relay.
Some four-legged pets meet us after work, others protect the rest of the whole state. Every year dog handlers prepare professional fluffy fighters for our special services. These four-legged heroes took out the wounded from themselves on the battlefield and bravely went on reconnaissance during the Great Patriotic War, in Afghanistan and Syria they took care of human lives without sparing their own. And in peacetime, you can always hear their warning barking at the borders. These are our faithful helpers who protect not for medals and orders, but for delicacy or a battered toy.
