Festival "Wings of Parma 2019"

1
Last weekend at the Sokol airbase of the Perm Territory, another aviation holiday "Wings of Parma". The festival is held for the 11th time in a row and has now become known outside the region. In the parking lot of guests, one could see cars from the neighboring Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions, Udmurtia, and the Republic of Bashkortostan. The total number of visitors exceeds 20.

Perm has a long-standing aviation history. One of the key enterprises of the city is the Perm Engine Company, founded in the 30 of the 20 century. The company produced aircraft engines for a variety of aircraft. Among them are La-5, La-7, MiG-31, Tu-2 bomber, An-2, Il-14, Tu-134, Tu-154М, Tu-204, Il-96-300, transport Il -76. During the years of the Great Patriotic War, there was a “Flight Test Station” at the plant in the form of an airfield where airplanes and engines were tested before being sent to the front. In the post-war years, an airfield DOSAAF “Frola” was created on its base. At various times, a military aviation-technical school and a naval aviation-technical school were based in Perm. In the latter studied Alexander Pokryshkin, the future ace. Vasily Vasilyevich Kamensky, one of the first aviators of the country, is an active enthusiast of aviation development, little known today outside his hometown.

In the post-war years, a new airfield was built near Perm, on which the 764 th Fighter Aviation Regiment was formed. The task of the new unit was to cover the Urals industrial region and the missile positions of the Strategic Missile Forces against possible attacks by US strategic aviation from the north-west. Together with the 764-IAP, the airspace of the Urals was guarded by the 763-IAP at the Salka airfield in the Sverdlovsk region and the 765 IAP at the Yugorsk airfield. In 90, both of these regiments were eliminated, only the Permian 764-IAP remained. Over the years, the regiment exploited the MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-19 and MiG-25 fighters. Today he flies on the MiG-31 interceptors. It was this regiment that became the hospitable home for the Wings of Parma festival.

The flight program of the holiday was opened by the parachutists of the Perm Sky Center Perm club. The strong wind did not prevent the professionals from showing the traditionally beautiful performance. The landing was provided by the good old An-2, which periodically dived into the clouds and was an analogue of the “invisible aircraft” for the audience, recalling itself only with the roar of the engine.

By the way, the clouds on this day pleased with its beauty, harmoniously combined with the blue sky. But the whole week before that over the region hung thick clouds and rain poured. As ordered, the weather decided to show mercy on the day of the festival.

The highlight of the program was the performance of the Russian Knights aerobatic team, on the latest Su-30CM fighters. The group of aerobatics, the most demanded not only in Russia but also in the world, has been visiting Perm for the second time. This is in itself a great rarity - the tight schedule of performance does not allow pilots to attend the same events many times. Therefore, there were big doubts that Permians could see them for the second year in a row. But either the significance of the festival is so great, or a little aviation luck came to the rescue - and the “Russian Knights” is again on the “Wings of Parma”!

Aviation connoisseurs were slightly surprised by aerobatics - the group clearly did not show what it was capable of. There were probably some reasons for this, but there is no exact information on this subject. However, few understand these subtleties, and a meeting with the best pilots of the world on excellent airplanes is a great event for most visitors.

In addition to Vityazi, the Silver Wings group from Ufa performed on light sport and tourist planes at the festival.

At some moments, the Ufa pilotage was no less exciting than that of heavy, super-maneuverable fighters. What is the cost between the two inflatable cones at ultra-low heights!

Unfortunately, after the collapse of the Soviet DOSAAF system in the field of small aircraft, we have seen big problems. An airplane, even a light one, is an expensive technique; it cannot be bought and maintained by anyone. There is no mass free training for pilots and gliders now. In addition, flights, training, pilotage, etc., are heavily crushed by bureaucracy. The air traffic control system continues to live and think in terms of the scale of jet liners, forgetting that the rules written for large airlines are extremely difficult for a private pilot or a small aviation club. By the way, in most developed countries of the world, flight rules for small aircraft are much simpler. As a result, the number of small aircraft pilots is much higher. And small aircraft is not only an economical and affordable way to solve many commercial tasks, but also in a sense, a personnel base for the Air Force and large airlines. We have all the hopes of small aircraft for enthusiasts, for their energy and an irresistible desire to fly. The Silver Wings group is an example of how people can make their way into the sky through all these difficulties and achieve serious success.

In a static exhibition, viewers saw the newest Su-34 bomber. For many visitors, this is the first meeting with the newest machine.

A veteran Su-24МР, a reconnaissance aircraft based on a Su-24M bomber, was housed in the neighborhood, as well as a Su-34 who flew in from a Shagol airfield in the Chelyabinsk region.

The newest helicopter Mi-8AMTSH arrived in Perm from Kamensk-Uralsky.

And, of course, the representative of the host country is the MiG-31 interceptor fighter from the 764 th fighter regiment.

It is worth noting that such an abundance of aircraft of different types of residents of the regions can hardly be seen anywhere else, except for the “Wings of Parma”. Static exposure pulls on a full-fledged mini-air show. And, of course, spectators and numerous photographers were pleased with the take-off of An-12BK who happened to be at the aerodrome and several civil aircraft (unfortunately, of foreign origin).

In between flights, visitors were entertained from the stage by various musical groups and performers. Repeatedly the famous aviation bard Nikolay Anisimov took the guitar in hands, concurrently one of the hosts of the holiday. He also commented on the performance of the “Russian Knights”. The music groups of veterans of the war in Afghanistan, representatives of the border troops, soloists and performers of the author's military song from Kungur, Osa, Perm performed.

Regarding the organization of the holiday in previous years, there were some complaints from visitors. They concerned the convenience of transporting viewers to the airfield, food, garbage collection and other things. It must be said that most of these remarks were successfully resolved at the last festival. Garbage magically disappeared unnoticed, overflowing urns was not found. For children, a playground was created with trampolines, plenty of food outlets, and more.

The only ineradicable complexity is the question of delivering visitors to an airfield remote from the city center and the problem of parking. But it is worth noting that the Falcon airbase was created as a military object, according to all rules of dispersal and camouflage. No one thought that after years the airfield would become the site of the festival with a massive visit to thousands of civilians. Unfortunately, many visitors do not understand this, demanding from the organizers the impossible and forgetting that the holiday is free. All that people see on this day is done by the personal work of the Wings of Parma team and volunteers. I would like to ask the audience to treat with understanding - they get the opportunity to see a unique aviation festival. In return, they do not require money, but some effort and patience. According to the author, more than profitable.

In addition, I would like to note that the Wings of Parma festival has reached the level of an inter-regional festival. This is a recognizable brand, known throughout the Ural region and even beyond. The festival has a future, and I want to hope that it will only get better. It is especially worth noting the importance of such holidays for the province. As you know, many festivals and events are held in Moscow. What is only the Army-2019 forum worth! For lovers of history and military equipment in Moscow, there are many museums. All this is absolutely deprived of the inhabitants of the province. It is extremely difficult to find time to visit an air show or museum in Moscow for a family from the Urals or from Siberia. Many people simply do not have time and money for this. Holidays similar to the “Wings of Parma” are especially important for the regions. This is a unique opportunity to see what residents of the capital see. Therefore, when the Ministry of Defense and the state as a whole are criticized for excessive enthusiasm of any kind "tank biathletes ”, forums and PR-actions, it should be remembered that exceptions can and should be made for the province.

We hope that the festival "Wings of Parma" will live and develop and will delight the audience with new bright moments!
