At the international forum "Army-2019" for the first time revealed the characteristics of the newest Russian two-link self-propelled artillery gun "Magnolia".
Despite the fact that the new self-propelled gun was known for a long time, until recently, information about it was fragmentary. And now the specialists of Uralvagonzavod told some details about the Magnolia.
Self-propelled artillery gun developed by JSC Central Research Institute "Petrel". It is designed to fire a variety of enemy targets - from armored vehicles and manpower to fortifications.
“Magnolia” is located on the chassis of the DT-10PM tracked armored conveyor of the Vityaz family. The caterpillar drive makes it indispensable in the conditions of Siberia and the Far North, in difficult terrain.
The gun shoots high-explosive fragmentation shells at a distance of up to 8,5 km, guided missiles at 10 km, high-explosive fragmentation mines at 7 km. The rate of guns - 10 rounds per minute, ammunition consists of 80 shells.
The crew of the "Magnolia" four people. The DT-10PM two-link tracked carrier has a weight of 23,5 tons, but is capable of speeds up to 44 km / h, afloat - up to 5 km / h.
Magnolia is expected to enter into service with artillery (mortar) units deployed in hard-to-reach areas, waterlogged areas in the Far North.
