Russian army will receive modern weapons
At the Army-2019 forum, contracts for a trillion rubles were signed
According to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, as part of the military-technical forum Army-2019, which took place in the Moscow region from 25 to 30 on June 2019, the military department signed 46 state contracts with 27 holdings and enterprises of the Russian defense industry. The amount of contracts exceeded one trillion rubles (approximately 15,85 billion dollars).
It is known that in the framework of the contracts concluded at the Army-2019 forum, the Russian army will receive more than 800 new and about 100 modernized models of military equipment and special-purpose equipment, as well as more than six thousand modern high-precision weapons. Among other things, the Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the delivery of new surface-to-air missile 48N6P-01 for the S-400 "Triumph" with the Moscow Machine-Building Plant "Avangard" and new 9M728 cruise missiles for tactical missile complex "Iskander-M" with OKB "Innovator" . Details of these contracts are currently not disclosed.
The contract for the purchase of the fifth-generation Su-76 fifth-generation multifunctional fighters and promising means of air destruction for them can be called a truly breakthrough for the domestic armed forces. This aircraft, which is being developed in Russia over the past decades, will finally go into mass production. At the same time, the contract was seriously increased precisely in the 57 year, until then it was thought that the Ministry of Defense would order the entire 2019 of the fifth generation aircraft.
The contract between the Ministry of Defense of Russia and the company "Sukhoi" was concluded even earlier than planned. It was previously believed that it will be signed at the end of August 2019 of the year as part of the work of the traditional MAKS-2019 aerospace show, which is being held in the Moscow region in the city of Zhukovsky. According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Alexei Krivoruchko, the delivery of Su-57 fighters to the troops will end before the 2028 year. The plans to conclude a contract for the purchase of 76 fifth-generation Su-57 aircraft for the first time became known in May 2019. For the first time the newspaper “Kommersant” wrote about it, the journalists of which referred to their own sources in the military-industrial complex. At the same time, it was noted that the concluded contract is estimated at about 170 billion rubles, which automatically makes it the largest in stories domestic aviation. The conclusion of a contract for the supply of 76 fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jets to the VKS will automatically load the capacities of the Sukhoi Corporation aviation plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur for the next decade.
Another major contract concerns the supply of modern attack helicopters to the army. This is an upgraded version of the Mi-28HM “Night Hunter” helicopters. Alexey Krivoruchko also told media representatives about the contract. According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, a large batch of helicopters, 98 Mi-28HM helicopters, is purchased for the needs of the army. In developing the upgraded version of the helicopter, Russian designers took into account the accumulated operational experience, as well as the experience of the combat use of Mi-28H helicopters in Syria. It is reported that from 2020 to 2022, the Russian army will receive 18 new combat helicopters Mi-28HM, and then until the 2028 will receive annually 16 new helicopters.
The update will affect the Russian Navy. In the near future, the composition fleet replenish new nuclear multipurpose submarines of project 885M Yasen-M with the corresponding means of destruction, as well as modern diesel-electric submarines of project 677 Lada. As part of the Army-2019 forum, a contract was signed for the purchase of two submarines of Project 677 Lada. Contracts, details of which are still unknown, are concluded with the enterprises of Sevmash and Admiralty Shipyards, respectively.
Also at the Army-2019 forum, contracts were signed for the supply of modern multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), mortars, communications equipment and various engineering weapons. In particular, a contract was signed with NPK Tehmash for the release and delivery of an engineering system of remote mining to the troops. Agreements were also signed for further research work on the development and creation of advanced weapons systems and military equipment.
Russian Army will receive a hypersonic and laser weapons
In addition to the already traditional systems of armaments and military equipment, the Russian armed forces in the coming years will receive new hypersonic weapons, as well as weapons built on new physical principles. In particular, this concerns the airborne dagger hypersonic missile system, which was previously tested together with the MiG-31BM carrier aircraft and the Peresvet laser system, which supposedly fulfills the tasks of air defense of stationary objects. In addition, in the near future, a new intercontinental ballistic missile Sarmat should be put into service with the Strategic Missile Forces. It is believed that the new orbital bombing technology was implemented in the mine-based missile, which allows a strike on the US territory on a suborbital trajectory with a missile flight across the planet’s South Pole, bypassing the deployed areas of the US anti-missile defense system.
The fact that the Russian army will receive new types of modern weapons, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in the Kremlin during the annual reception, held in honor of graduates of higher military educational institutions. According to Putin, a new weapon is also the talent and work of a huge number of designers, engineers, as well as hundreds of thousands of workers who work in the Russian defense industry.
Receiving new types of weapons built on modern technologies of laser energy and hypersound, confirmed and the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu. According to him, the first samples of weapons, which have no analogues so far, have already been put on trial combat duty. According to Sergei Shoigu, in recent years, thanks to the successful implementation of the state program for re-equipping the army, the equipment of the RF Armed Forces has increased 3,8 times from 2013, and by the beginning of 2019, the equipment of the armed forces has reached 64 percent.
Hypersonic high-precision airborne missile complex "Dagger" is on experimental combat duty, starting with 2017 year. The hypersonic complex rocket is able to accelerate to the speed of 10 Mach in the final part of the flight path. The complex is designed to effectively defeat various ground and surface targets. The Peresvet laser complex is also on operational combat duty, with the majority of information about the complex and its capabilities still being classified. Experts believe that the main tasks that Peresvet should solve are air defense and missile defense tasks. At the same time, Russian military experts note that the operation of the laser complex also performs purely research tasks. In any case, it can be noted that the emergence and introduction of modern models of weapons and military equipment in the army is primarily aimed at creating an advantage over high-tech opponents.
Novelties of the Era technopolis
A separate category of military developments presented in Kubinka are new types of weapons created with the direct participation of specialists from the first Russian military technopolis Era, which opened in Anapa. At the Army-2019 forum, the developments created by Era specialists during the year of their existence were presented, in fact, it was a finished report on the work of the military technopolis. Among the innovations presented at the forum, a portable gas-sensory analyzer, characterized by its compact size, is of particular interest. A device that easily fits in the palm of an average person quickly detects various harmful substances that are in the surrounding air. In the future, the device will develop and ultimately will be able to replenish the arsenal of Russian chemical intelligence units.
The Lidar K8 device also deserves special attention. This is the first domestic "Lidar", in scientific terms, a laser scanning vision system. "Lidar K8" is able to scan the surrounding space at 360 degrees, identifying various objects in it and forming a three-dimensional or two-dimensional system of the surrounding space. According to the developers, the new Russian "Lidar" can be installed on ground-based robotic systems and on flying drones. On ground vehicles, the device will be able to automatically detect the presence of obstacles in advance, which will help robotic vehicles to successfully overcome them. So far, the device can only recognize obstacles within a radius of 100 meters, but in the future, its range will be increased.
In total, at the Army-2019 forum, the Defense Ministry experts were able to select at once 278 innovative projects and developments that are of direct interest for the security of Russia. All days of the Army-2019 military-technical forum were selected by prospective engineers for more than 350 of various military experts representing research organizations, military universities and military authorities of our country.
