In the near future, a new Toshochka heavy flame-thrower system can be supplied to the Russian army. Now she has entered the second stage of state tests.

"Toschka" rushes into battle: the second phase of testing a flamethrower system began

Vladimir Lepin, general director of the Techmash concern, spoke about the new flamethrower system at the Army-2019 forum.

The heavy flamethrower system "Tosochka" is made on the wheeled chassis platform, in contrast to the TOC-1A "Solntsepek", which can be called the immediate predecessor of the new system and which "Tosochka" should replace it.

The wheel drive, in the opinion of the Chief Editor of Arsenal of Fatherland Magazine Viktor Murakhovsky, which he voiced the TV Zvezda a year ago, is a significant advantage of Tosochka, since in this case it will be able to move independently over long distances.

Vladimir Lepin noted that the team coped with the tasks set by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and is now entering the state testing stage.

True, there is no clarity as to the timing of the start of the delivery of “Tosochka” to the troops. Two years ago, in July, 2017, Nikolai Makarovets, the general designer of the enterprise - the developer of NPO Splav, said that the supplies of the Toshok system were laid down in the state armaments program 2018-2025.

Somewhere slipped data that the production of shells for the "Solntserek" and "Buratino" systems at NPO "Spoav", over the past couple of years, increased more than eight times!

Are you going to fight with someone? But what about the economic forums, the G20 summit?
Maybe all this is then for sale - business is business, dollars do not smell.
But now, after all, everything is in numbers - numbers on bank cards.

Well, yes, everything is calm in Baghdad ... World peace, NATO bases on the perimeter of Russia's borders are cartoons and conjectures of Kremlin bots, and Uncle Sam hung a stick on his wall which is constantly stirring up wasp nests stuck around Russia. The idyll is simple .... Yes, and we are not going to fight, but to defend ourselves ...

NATO bases are a reality, as is the base in Ulyanovsk. What forces to defend?

There is no need to make excuses and deploy military equipment already in the Western direction.
The Russian Federation has already dealt a powerful blow to Ukraine - less than five years have passed.
Quote: "... From June 1, 2019, it will be possible to export fuel and energy complex products from Russia to the territory of Ukraine, including coal, oil and oil products, only on the basis of special permits issued by the Ministry of Economic Development. In addition to oil, this list includes: straight-run gasoline, commercial gasolines, diesel fuel, propane, butane, and other liquefied gases. "These are deadly sanctions, - believes Andrey VAJRA ..."

I think everything is more prosaic in the title. "Tosochka" from the abbreviation TOS (heavy flamethrower system). True, nothing is said, what kind of wheelbase is supposed for it? Although, there are not many options - Kamaz, Ural, BAZ.

never found official statements about a new ammunition with increased range for tosochka
Experimental military operation of the new heavy flamethrower system "Tosochka" will begin in 2020
This was reported to Interfax by the deputy head of the Tekhmash holding, Alexander Kochkin.
        - Now prototypes of the new system for preliminary tests are being prepared. State tests are planned in 2019, said Kochkin.
Such a short period for testing is due to the fact that the combat module of the system remains unchanged. The main feature of "Tosochka" will be a wheeled chassis.

The controversial decision is a range of 6 km, i.e. installation in the tactical zone, and without armor tracks you can’t hang much ...

        26 June 2019 22: 24
but what is the use of armor on Pinocchio when several tons of such explosives hang above the head of the tankmen that there’s nothing left of the tank if it is hit, the ammunition itself isn’t covered with armor, just guiding

And "Buratin" used a T-72 tank as a chassis, because their range was too short, in fact, it fired at the enemy in line of sight, they could have burned it out from something anti-tank.
And here is the range or something added for missiles?

it seems that the range remained the same, the wheeled chassis to improve mobility, so that they themselves could be relocated, without tractors

Infa little questions a lot. Tos was placed on the tank’s chassis not for beauty, but because the installation itself was heavy and the firing range was not high, which accordingly required adequate protection. What they eventually managed to do in order to use the wheeled chassis - the new ammunition or the new design of the guides (or even better if this and that) is quite interesting. I would like to check out at least the layout on the Army in these outings.

Yes, no one will post at the border. Or to place, to be knocked out in the first place? Moreover, there is no RCB-protection brigade at the borders. Whether "tosochka" will go to replace "TOS" Buratino "or not is still unknown. As well as performance characteristics of" Tosochki "are unknown. The only thing to say is that it will be more mobile ...

I did not understand the logic. If the tracked chassis, then the range is small, but if the wheeled - more? I thought that it depends on the projectile ...

I think about the replacement is nonsense of journalists. The wheels of the gusli will not be replaced. Exports to countries with predominant hard soil. And for reinforcement, more maneuverable. To concentrate faster.
And Range is an inherent design feature. Apparently she suits the military. At the forefront is the damaging factor and not the range.

    1. "Toosochka" on a wheeled chassis is to a large extent "pleasing" foreign customers. (Well, busurmans prefer wheeled vehicles! Such are their "quirks"! And what do they want from the seller? Right ... "any whim for your money! "). And also ... wheeled vehicles are cheaper, more durable than tracked vehicles! 2. The "range" of "flamethrower" eres - up to 6 km ... work is underway to increase the range to 10 km (when "it will work out" is unknown ...). Of the "novelties" on ammunition: "remote" detonation .. . (I will not say "on the fly": proximity fuse (laser, radio frequency) or "programmable" (which is now in the "trend" ...)
