It became known about the decision on the high-profile case of journalist Ivan Golunov. Recall that we are talking about the reporter for the portal "Medusa", who was engaged in investigative journalism, related in particular to cases of corruption in law enforcement agencies.
Golunov was detained and subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession and sale of drugs. This arrest led to a real information tsunami. In the Golunov case, senior government officials called for an understanding of the matter and not to exceed official authority.
Today it is reported that those law enforcement officers who were involved in the case of Ivan Golunov were excluded from their official duties. The relevant decision was voiced by Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
The case of Ivan Golunov was transferred to the RF IC, which decided to remove the indicated members of the investigation team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the period of the inspection.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, spoke about the fall in the level of trust in the law enforcement system of Russia in connection with the initiation of a criminal case regarding a journalist related to the alleged storage and sale of drugs. Matvienko called the initiation of a criminal case against a journalist as a provocation.
Golunov himself in an interview with the media said that he had never used drugs and had not kept them at home.
At the moment, it became known that the criminal case against the correspondent "Medusa" closed. In addition, it is reported that the head of the Moscow Department of the Interior Ministry on combating drugs will lose his post.
