Vietnam introduced inflatable weapon systems mockups
What did Vietnam learn?
According to the publication, the feature "weapons, Disguised as C-300PMU1, is its external identity to a real combat system at the disposal of Vietnamese air defense.
According to DatViet, the use of inflatable mock-ups to disguise or misinform the enemy about the location of real weapons is carried out in many countries of the world. The most famous in this regard was the Russian army, which imitates various systems, such as S-300 missiles, Tanks T-72, Su-27 fighters and even MiG-21. This method of disorientation of the enemy is relevant in that the falsity of this weapon cannot be confirmed by modern electronic intelligence systems.
After the military accepted the Su-30 layout, produced by 76 Company, the manufacturer was asked to continue the development of other inflatable models, such as: Su-22 aircraft, C125-2ТM missile system, radar, Su-30МК2 fighter.

How it works
As stated, inflatable products are made of non-absorbent material and take up little space when folded. Imitation tanks and fighters reach the size of real analogs in 5 minutes, and it is difficult to distinguish them from real weapon versions at a distance of 100 meters.
To make these inflatable systems more difficult to detect using reconnaissance equipment, the Russian army equips them with heat generators and a device that simulates a radar signal. However, it is unclear whether Vietnamese products have this equipment.
According to DatViet, during the war with the United States, Vietnam effectively used the inflated models of the C-75 missiles to deceive the intelligence of the US Air Force. Today, the means of reconnaissance and attack do not allow to survive the first wave of attack. Inflatable layouts in these conditions can improve survival and avoid sudden death. In addition, the enemy will be forced to squander the arsenal of their ammunition, fighting against fictitious targets.
