The Armed Forces of Belarus are preparing for future deliveries of an upgraded version of the MLRS Polonez-M. The system, together with the upgraded tactical ammunition A300, was once again presented at the arms exhibition. We are talking about the exhibition MILEX-2019.
The development of Polonaise-M by Belarus is carried out jointly with a foreign partner. At the same time, there is no official information about who exactly is engaged in cooperation in the creation of this rocket launcher. It is assumed that we are talking about China.
The development of an upgraded version of the A300 rocket for the Polonaise-M will be completed, allegedly, by the 2021 year. In this regard, it becomes obvious that in a fully updated version of the MLRS for the AF of the Republic of Belarus will be purchased no earlier than 2021 of the year.
Recall that in the 2017, the test of ammunition for the Polonez in the Gomel region showed its ability to hit targets at a distance of almost 300 km. More specifically - 298,5 km. Initially it was reported that the target's range is 200 km. But then it was about the A200 rocket. Increased figures gave food for thought about modernization, which can significantly increase the capabilities of the MLRS.
Belarusian developers note that the new rocket is being designed taking into account its increased maneuverability. Also, the speed of its flight will be higher than its predecessor. The probability of a circular deviation from the target will be less than 30 m.
It should be noted that today the initial versions of the MLRS "Polonez" are in service with the armies of Belarus and Azerbaijan.
