The second sample of the IL-112V transporter was collected at TsAGI

The second sample of the Il-112В military transport aircraft, delivered at the end of December last year to the TsAGI (Central Zhukovsky Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute), was fully assembled and ready for life tests. It is reported by TASS, citing a source in the defense industry.

The second sample of the IL-112V transporter was collected at TsAGI

According to published information, TsAGI and Voronezh Aviation Plant specialists completed the assembly of the second sample of the IL-112В aircraft for life tests, which will begin in July and August of this year. The aircraft will be used for static tests and may remain at TsAGI for several years. However, if the third and fourth IL-112В planes are not built for flight tests, then a second plane located at TsAGI can also attract them.

The first IL-112B model designed for flight tests took off on March 30 and made three flight circles with simulated landing.

Earlier it was reported that the second IL-112В aircraft was delivered at the end of December 2018 from Voronezh to Zhukovsky in a disassembled state in three stages. On the first, the stabilizer, flap, aileron, as well as dozens of containers with smaller parts were delivered; on the second, the wing section of the aircraft; on the third, the fuselage. Transportation was carried out on road trains at night, accompanied by traffic police.

Work on the creation of IL-112V conducted with 2014 year. The Il-112B light military transporter is intended for the transport of personnel, weapons, equipment and other goods weighing up to 5 tons. In the future, the car will replace outdated An-26 and An-24 aircraft.

And what exactly are they going to experience if, as reported, the aircraft will be quite radically redone?

        Already redesigned.
The work on reducing the weight of the aircraft was entrusted to me, we agreed on all plans and issues with the military and began to work ...
2,5 tons for such a small aircraft, this is a pretty decent figure ...
We released a schedule; in June last year, we approved it in the UAC. We also issued an internal order, for all our developers, that we will pay bonuses for reducing the mass of the aircraft ...
For the month of May this year, we get a decrease of 2082 kg. Where can we gain another half a ton? This includes modernization of the aircraft, equipment complex, transition to an electro-remote control system, and optimization of the hydraulic system. This set of works will allow you to get a reduction in aircraft weight by 2472 kg ...
And on the day of the first flight, March 30, I reported now to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation for the defense-industrial complex Yu. I. Borisov that we will cope with the problem of reducing the mass. This updated documentation will be implemented already on the next Troika vehicle, the appearance of which will fully correspond to all subsequent production vehicles. "

In part, we are implementing it on the first experimental aircraft, which performed the first flight.

So, not everything is so bad. good

And the second machine, which is located in TsAGI, will undergo strength and life tests.

maybe I noticed one, but some very angular plane turned out,
many broken lines, few smooth contours
there is no impression of aerodynamics lickiness, which is immediately visible on many Soviet aircraft.
The shape of the fuselage from the nose to the base of the wing bothers me a bit -
it doesn’t seem so aerodynamically good to me. Also questions to the contours of the nacelles for the chassis
hence probably the general impression of ugliness

Airplanes are not made by designers, but by engineers. And the models are purged in the wind tunnel. Sometimes the fairings of the air flow are dissected in such a way that I do not care what kind of shape is behind this fairing. In fact - a freight car with a cabin, wings and motors. They look not at the forms, but at the indicators in the TOR.

here in the 30s it was the same when the comparison of tb-3 and Douglas turned out to be a shock - the aerodynamic quality and other performance characteristics were so different. You should not repeat old mistakes and formally push that which approaches TK. Our country has already passed this way and filled up cones. Why repeat it?

What makes you think that the IL-112 has a low engine layout? This aircraft is a high-wing aircraft, like Antonov’s cars and engines, located quite high above the ground. Do not confuse it with the IL-114, that yes, low-wing (passenger version).

This is from the wrong perception of scale, the engine hangs there normally. According to the reference, the height of the machines:
          IL -112V - 8,9 m
          An-26 - 8,575 m
          An-24 - 8,32 m

        Plantagenet.
        Superjet is just a pity.
He was unlucky. Initially, it was projected in a "wide world cooperation" with the prospect of entering world markets, respectively, most of the "filling" is foreign.
But in light of recent events, the concept has changed dramatically.
For the hillock now "does not shine."
Plus, many suppliers broke away from him ...
So you have to redo it, or rather create it again ...
God grant that everything works out, and the plane would be born a second time!

ssj was originally a weird idea
for some reason, this project proceeded from ideas that were popular in the 80s during the collapse of the USSR, that Americans are friends and comrades to us
And it was necessary to immediately perceive the right share of paranoia and how to do everything for ms-21 for ourselves and for ourselves.
and not lose a ton of money and time in vain. In fact, 8 years were lost for the restoration of civil aviation.

Is it easy for you now "in hindsight" ???
You should go there, in the dashing 90s, and see what you would "create" there ...
In those conditions, and in that setting.
And not in the 80s was the collapse of the USSR, but in 1991.
            Again you are cheating ...
To be honest, you are already somehow disgustingly looking at the background of such statements.
            Sorry.

why create? in the 90s it was enough just not to break what was already
slightly improve the engines for IL-62, IL-86, Tu-154 and still it would be the basis of the fleet
instead, all domestic planes went into the woods
So I had to replace it with something like ssj. But you yourself think how unsuccessful when a company that never made civilian aircraft suddenly does this, and even immediately swings it at a major project. This was guaranteed if not a failure, but a serious cost overrun.
well, in general, building all aviation around the dry is an extremely lousy idea.

If everything was so simple ...
Our civil aviation bobby with a watermelon, and their lobby is already in our country, began to choke purposefully! We would not have gotten off with engines alone - "requirements" were introduced for AO, avionics, comfort, airfield services, noise level, environmental friendliness ... etc. to infinity. Moreover, these requirements were often mutually exclusive. They had one goal - to strangle our civil aircraft industry!
Compared to the others, the Sukhovites more or less went military orders, they had money. They decided to give them cards in their hands.
And now it seems to me that the project of a purely ours, domestic airliner at that time, one way or another, would have been hacked to death. For those who then "ruled" the country did not care deeply about our aviation industry. In order to develop something new, to somehow maintain the level, to load at least some volume of production with work, not to lose, but to retain at least some of the personnel, a "Solomon" decision was made. Moreover, with the possibility of exporting ...
Nobody would give us a plane completely to us then!
Not for this "ebn", and his Gaidar-Chubais-Nemtsovs "reformed" the country!

And there was no other way. Their competencies are lost, behind world leaders .. And what to do? Here, grinding their teeth shut their eyes to the numerous jambs in the contracts, and tried to drop into the outgoing wagon of the world aviation .. Today, all the jambs of those decisions have come up .. BUT again, access to technology and the development of many industries did not completely leave behind and allowed to keep the technology. MS-21 is the result of work on a hundred. Of course, it would be necessary to hire sensible lawyers and put French cancer for the engine components and their untimely delivery, Americans for idle avionics on a fallen jet .. But they are white people and the court process will be very complicated .
