In the Idlib de-escalation zone, there is a sharp exacerbation of the situation and an increase in the number of cases in which militants violate the cessation of hostilities regime. This was announced by the head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria, Major General Viktor Kupchishin.
According to the general, the situation in the Idlib de-escalation zone has deteriorated sharply. Over the past day, the militants have repeatedly opened fire from mortars, multiple rocket launchers and artillery. Five settlements in the province of Hama, four settlements in the province of Latakia, as well as two settlements located in the province of Idlib were subjected to shelling. Moreover, shelling by the same targets was carried out by militants two or three times.
In addition, the militants made two attempts to fire at the Russian airbase Hmeimim from the RSZO, which is under the control of the militants from the Hayat Tahrir ash-Sham grouping (formerly Dzhebkhat al-Nusra) banned in Russia in the Idlib de-escalation zone.
Today, twice, in the morning and in the evening, the Khmeimim airbase was fired from multiple launch rocket systems, "a total of 36 rockets were fired.
