In St. Petersburg, launched patrol ship project 22120
This ship, being built for the Border Guard Service of the Federal Security Service of Russia, is the first of two ordered patrol ships of the 22120 project, according to a contract concluded by the Almaz Federal Council with the Federal Security Service of Russia in February 2018. The laying of both ships took place last May 30, "Transbaikalia" was launched at the end of April, the second ship, called "Taimyr", will be launched in July this year. Both ships are intended for service in the Far East.
Earlier, the shipbuilding company "Almaz" had already built for the FSB border ships of the 22120 project, in total transferring to the Border Guard three patrol ships in 2011, 2013 and 2018.
This draft of the patrol ships was developed by PKB Petrobalt LLC as a large customs vessel commissioned by the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation on the instructions of 2005 of the year. After the refusal of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation in 2009, from this project, funding continued from the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of Russia.
The patrol ship of the project 22120 cipher "Purga" is a high-speed multipurpose ice-class coast guard ship capable of keeping watch on ice. The hull of the ship is equipped with ice reinforcement, allowing to overcome the ice thickness of more than half a meter. Maximum stroke speed - 24 knots. economic - 14 bonds. The sailing range of the economic course reaches 6000 miles, autonomy - 20 days, and the crew size is 16-25 people + up to 14 people as passengers. Armed - automatic artillery installation AK-306M and one helicopter.
