Black hole accretion disk in Messier 87 (EHT) galaxy

35
Five days ago, we were able to see a photo of the black hole accretion disk in the Messier 87 galaxy, which is in the constellation Virgo A.

Actually, the photo itself

This, by the way, suggests that the theory of black holes was correct. Thanks to EHT (Event Horizon Telescope) theory has become a reality.

The mass of this black hole in 65,5 billion times the mass of our Sun.

Black hole accretion disk in Messier 87 (EHT) galaxy

How does a black hole change during the week

EHT is an international collaboration to create a network of radio telescopes, combining data from several interferometry stations with a very long baseline (VLBI) over the entire Earth.

This method of linking radio transmissions across the globe to create an interferometer the size of the Earth was used to measure the size of the radiation regions of two supermassive black holes with the largest visible event horizons: Sagittarius A * in the center of our galaxy (Milky Way) and Messier 87 in the center of the Virgo A galaxy .

Well, here you can choose a radio telescope on the map and learn about it.

Sagittarius A * (26 thousand light years from Earth)

Messier 87 (55 million light years from Earth)

A very important role was played by Dr. Kathy Buman, who created the algorithm, thanks to which we can see the very photo of the black hole's accretion disk.

Fiction and my applause! The clearest example of international cooperation and no trampolines and flaring. People are busy with science, and the face of Dr. Katy Boom is already shining with happiness and she is simply a miracle with the whole team involved in this EVENT. fellow There is a real reason to note drinks

To call a place where holes are absolutely impossible is a masterpiece of irony. Most likely "black holes" are accumulators of matter-energy. Are not quasars their continuation? Batteries cannot be charged indefinitely.

The Schwarzschild zone or sphere, now called the Event Horizon ... which (which) can also have a layered structure because there can be border spheres as in a Russian doll fellow Christmas trees, sticks, thoughts ran from the beginning of the 80s, sometimes it becomes a pity that I did not become an astrophysicist as I wanted then ... I envy them kindly.

I think that from our side there are enough black hole galaxies. It would only desire, as they say.

When will we approximately see Sagittarius, in 2 of the year?

I think that we will wait longer. After all, we must first gather information and then process it.

charging the batteries from the cooling universe is not enough for the new babah, only Baron Munchausen could pull himself out of his hair.

Even as they exist !!! On one scientific site, I found out that by modern means we observed a collision of two supermassive objects with huge density in another galaxy and for the first time GRAVITY WAVES, and, accordingly, gravitons, were recorded. For a long time I know that graviton has spin = 2, and why --- did not know. It turns out because bodies emitting gravitons are macroscopic.
I don’t remember the name of the site, I forgot to make a bookmark, now I need to re-start everything in the search engine, and I --- to work!

Unfortunately, gravitational waves did not prove the existence of gravitons, but confirmed Einstein's assumption about the existence of the waves themselves. Some suggestions are just as obvious. Space time dictates matter how to settle down and move in it, and matter, in turn, bends space.

And did not think to laugh. Maybe, maybe they exist (antigravitons). Although the comparison with the positron is not quite a point. I would compare the graviton (the carrier of gravitational interactions) with the photon (the carrier of electromagnetic interactions). I have not heard about the antiphoton, therefore, by analogy, perhaps antigravitons do not exist. In general, although apples fall to the ground, gravitational interaction is weak. It is difficult to study it by modern means and methods (in order to fix gravitational waves, two huge interferometers had to be built. But without experimenting, they will move forward. Although it is possible to cut them off. Studying particles, carriers of strong interactions using the principle of equivalence will approach gravitons.

                  I agree. very much.

if we accept that matter / energy has a "mirror image", then we can also accept that the form of matter / energy does not matter and dance further from this stove

The only question is the planning horizon.
      - if it is small, then in general it is possible to solve space almost completely (with the exception of reconnaissance satellites, the Internet, TV and positioning systems), it is not needed. For there will be no practical return on investment in 10-15 years.

      Fotochka did the following:
      - confirmed Einstein’s theory, but on the whole it is +/- not critically important (it would be critical if it had not been confirmed).
      - confirmed all the main models - which they created and counted on supercomputers in recent years. Therefore - in this direction you can move on. Being engaged in virtual researched for this model. We cannot get there - but we can calculate virtually.
      - Got a unique experience, a unique software package, creating a virtual telescope the size of the earth. It will develop actively. In the future, it is possible to create even larger virtual telescopes, already in space, and they will be based on the unique experience gained now.

      Quote: SERGEY SERGEEVICS
      beyond the universe
hard to say but now the probability that exoplanets will be discovered in a given star does not depend on the distance to this star! And soon all the galaxies in our Supergalaxy will be resolved to the stars !!! The object Virgo A already ... Looked on the Web and read in the magazine that through the CTX those galaxies were already cataloged, the distance from which is the largest! They are in the opposite region of our Universe, our Riemannian hypersphere, from us! Nothing further than them can be for geometric reasons --- space is curved and its volume is finite. Therefore, we are already on the verge of drafting maps of the universe!
Good luck to you, comrades astronomers !!!!!
