Huftar's army captured a military base from Tripoli and continues to compress the ring
According to published information, after a fierce fighting, Haftar’s army established control over a military base in the Al-Aziziya area 40 km from the Libyan capital. It is reported that "combat vehicles" were found on the territory of the base, but what is not explained. In addition, a few prisoners from groups loyal to NPCs have been announced.
It is also reported that in the Libyan capital itself, the forces of the Libyan National Army were able to seize 14 combat vehicles (again without decoding), along with their crews from the forces supporting Saraj.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the LNA has established control over a large part of the southeastern region of Ain Zara in the vicinity of Tripoli, which is of great strategic importance because of its proximity to the entrance to the Libyan capital. At the same time, clashes continue southwest of Tripoli in the Qasr bin Gashir region.
During the April 4 offensive, the Khalifa Haftar’s offensive took control of the towns of Garyan and Surman south of Tripoli and continued to attack the Libyan capital, ringing it.
Earlier, the Government of National Accord (PPS) Faiz Saraj announced the issuance of an arrest warrant for Huftar and his generals.
In 2011, during the civil war, the leader of the Libyan revolution, Muammar Gaddafi, was killed by insurgents, with devastating consequences for the country, both politically and economically. Currently, there are two governments in Libya: the PNS Prime Minister Faiz Saraj in Tripoli recognized by the international community and the interim Cabinet of Ministers Abdullah Abdurrahman Al-Thani, acting in the east of the country together with an elected parliament and supported by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar in the east of the country.
