The story of one commander
Since 1999, Arkady Korolkov has taken part in hostilities in Chechnya. He was the commander of a self-propelled artillery regiment as part of the operational group "Zapad" and led the actions during the liberation of the Terek and Sunzhensky ridges, a number of villages and cities, and assaulted the village of Komsomolskoye. He was waited at home in two months, but the "business trip" was delayed for two years.
In January, 2000, Arkady Mikhailovich participated in the storming of Grozny. At the observation post, he was surrounded and attacked. In a seemingly hopeless situation, Korolkov made a decision to cause artillery fire on himself. He received a severe contusion, but none of his comrades died, and the militants were thrown back and suffered serious losses. Similarly, he did in February 2000 of the year during the assault on the height 956.7 in the Argun gorge. In these battles he received the rank of colonel and was awarded the Order of Courage, and later he was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation.
Arkady Mikhailovich - military by vocation. Colleagues say that its main quality is the ability to take care of its people. Korolkov often took the role of a spotter on himself and was located at the command and observation post along with an infantry commander. His artillery regiment suffered minimal losses, tasks under the control of the commander were excellent, and discipline was always at its best.
Upon returning to peaceful life, Colonel Korolkov continued his service. The tasks for the commander were found - the location of the regiment was problematic, but under the leadership of Arkady Mikhailovich, she soon became exemplary and began to accept the young generation of the whole motorized rifle division. In 2007, Colonel Korolkov became Deputy Commander of the Missile Forces and Artillery of the Moscow Military District and continues his service to this day.
