In the Kaliningrad region on Friday, a new S-400 Triumph air defense regiment took up combat duty to protect the airspace of Russia. It is reported by the press service of the Baltic fleet.

The new regiment C-400 took up combat duty in the Kaliningrad region

According to a widespread press release, a solemn ceremony was held in anticipation of the arrival of the military alert crew on the territory of the anti-aircraft missile regiment of the BF air defense unit. The regimental set of S-400 air defense missiles arrived in the westernmost region of Russia in early March, directly from the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region after the acceptance tests were carried out. After arriving at the deployment point, work was carried out to deploy the complexes and prepare them for combat duty.

According to the bmpd blog, the S-400 air defense regiment (presumably a two-division squad), which is on alert, is part of the 44 Air Defense Division of the BN 1545 Air Defense Missile Regiment, which previously had two S-300V air defense divisions. At the moment, according to information from open sources, the anti-aircraft missile group of the 44 BF air defense division covering the Kaliningrad region has six S-400 air defense divisions and two S-300PS air defense divisions in service. It is possible that there are also reserve non-deployed divisions of S-300PS air defense systems.

The Russian Armed Forces did not have the S-300 PS. All of them have been upgraded to a minimum of version PM-1

when the first divisions arrived in Kaliningrad, a hysteria began among our Baltic friends, led by the Commonwealths ... now, at least fainting and convulsions from anger and powerlessness will follow ... the good news is that the fist is strengthening over the geyropa

The only relative vulnerability of any anti-aircraft defense is the limited range of action against low-flying objects. A match for radar only slightly improves the situation. How do you like this idea - attach the radar to the drone, and let this radar fly at an altitude of several kilometers and transmit data to the complex. Then the range of up to 400 km will be applicable even to low-flying cruise missiles, enveloping obstacles

hi For these purposes, there is an electronic / location reconnaissance aircraft; UAVs of this profile are also being developed.

You can’t put a DRLAE plane for each air defense system, but a drone is quite

The AWACS aircraft, especially during the threatened period, never flies without fighter cover. Yes, only we have few of them. Very little. And there is no hope for a speedy increase in the number. At the same time, a suspended radar container for use on Su-30 / Su-34 aircraft is being adopted. If the heavy unmanned aircraft "Altius" is brought to mind, then its carrying capacity allows you to place a container with a radar station and on it and be on duty in the area for a long time. But this container has not circular, but sectoral illumination of the situation, and besides, the question of the reliability of communication channels remains open ... Besides, there are over-the-horizon radars. They cannot provide accurate target designation, but they can detect and notify ... And then work will begin for fighter aircraft - the optimal tool against low-flying targets, incl. KR.

Accurate target designation at the final site will give GOS missile defense

At meter stations, the target glows not with a dot, but with a hefty bast shoe. No one will transfer scarce missiles for such target designation. It is easier to raise the duty fighters - "they can see everything from above" - and they will detect and strike. For cruise missiles, it is fighter aircraft that specializes in long-range interception. SAMs take them only in the near zone - 20-30 km. For shooting beyond the horizon, you need an AWACS aircraft, a fighter with a container, or even simply issuing target designation from the airborne radar of the aircraft to the ACS of the air defense system. There can be target designation from the ground-based RTV air defense radar of the centimeter or extremely decimeter range.

This does not lead to any transfer of missiles. Everything is perfectly induced in the final section with the help of the GOS. I don’t think that people in the world design bureau have been sitting dumber for 40 years

A small amendment, scouts based in Sicily regularly fly around Crimea, the Black Sea coast, as well as Syria. Scouts flying around the Baltic Sea and Kaliningrad are based in the UK.
