The timing for certification of the aircraft engine VK-800С is specified

After a statement by the press service of the P. Baranov Central Institute of Aviation Engine Engineering (TsIAM) about the certification of the new Russian aircraft engine VK-800C in 2020, the network tried to evaluate the parameters of the power plant and the possibility of its serial production for various means aviation.

The timing for certification of the aircraft engine VK-800С is specified

Recall that the mock-up commission with the participation of representatives of the CIAM certification center has already been passed.

We are talking about a gas turbine aircraft engine with a "take-off" power of about 800 HP. (hence the number in the nomenclature designation). It was developed by the Klimov company. It is planned to be used for both single-engine and twin-engine aircraft, including small aircraft. The needs of Russia for these aircraft, as well as regional aviation aircraft, from year to year is becoming increasingly high.

The manufacturer notes an important detail. The VK-800S modification engines are relied upon in terms of their possible use as power plants for heavy drones Altair. VK-800S is a turboprop engine modification that runs on aviation kerosene. The installation of such an engine on a domestic reconnaissance-strike (multi-purpose) UAV will make it possible to achieve full import substitution. So far, Altairs are being designed based on the installation of two RED A12 03-cylinder diesel engines from RED Aircraft GmbH. The engine is produced at a plant in Adenau (Germany), while localization is also being carried out on the territory of the Russian Federation - OKB im. M.P.Simonov in Kazan. In this regard, the question arises, how relevant will the production of German aircraft engines be after the start of the production of the same VK-800S?

VK-800С - universal aircraft power plant, which is planned to be used on L-410 aircraft. And moreover, exclusively on those L-410, which are produced at Russian industrial facilities - UZGA (Yekaterinburg).

In addition to the version of the engine for airplanes and UAVs, work is underway to create VK-800B. The letter "B" shows that this is a helicopter version. It is planned to use it on the Ansat and Ka-226 helicopters. VK-800В - turboshaft modification with the same weight and size characteristics as the other version of VK-800. The mass of the power plant is relatively small - 140 kg with a length of exactly 1 m.

In fact, the VK-800 engine began to be developed at the beginning of the 2000-x. Initially, certification was planned for VK-800В for 2016 year. But then the priority was shifted in favor of VK-800С, and the deadlines shifted.

It is high time. The niche of engines with power up to 1000 hp is free. Stop buying from the bourgeoisie. In the 2000s, VK1500 was successfully buried, albeit on a Motor Sich, but the project was Russian.

Surprised dimensions! Length 1 m, weight 140 kg. (power about 800 hp)!
This is what "modern technologies" mean. But the main thing - what will be the real term, from layout to series? This is our Achilles' heel.

This year the bench tests of the engine are completed, and next year they plan to certify the engine with the L-410 aircraft, in my opinion, the production of which was localized in Russia. Nobody knows when they promise to make the PS-90A3M? It will be instead of the PD-18R and will be have the characteristics of modern western engines of the same class. PS-90A3M is an intermediate version with 4 engines for the IL-96-400M before it becomes possible to use 2 PD-35 on the same plane.

If we were just as good at introducing development into life, we would have long been ahead of the rest .....

Oh, Alexey! The trouble is ours !! HOW MANY wonderful developments "have sunk into oblivion" !!! Here's "how to come up with" - WE CAN! But HOW TO MAKE UP TO MIND ..... Here mulberries are required and "bourgeois managers" are needed ... Well, WHEN will it end ??? am

What modern technology ?! This engine has been sawing for 15 years. And still nothing.

He weighs not so little. The TV3-117MT weighed something around 250 kg, and the power was 2225 hp. So compare the weight with power.

Of course you need to make your own engines, and not buy from nasty NATO members.

This is unambiguous. Let it initially be worse for us. Then catch up. This is better than sitting and smearing snot on the cheeks, that everything is bad with us and we will die soon.

Can you put such engines on new corn engines?
He would still be omnivorous, that would at least refuel him ...

The new maize is equipped with a Honeywell TPE331-12UAN American turboprop engine with a take-off power of 1100 hp, but if power and reliability reach the Americans, it would not be bad.

At the same time, each such engine costs about a million dollars (data from the public procurement website), which makes the phenomenon of a "new cornman" absolutely unrealistic.

I agree that you need to develop and install your engine cheaper.

It has never been produced, while progress does not stand still, respectively, if you establish it, then launch a new, modern engine in a series.

I flew this several times on regional lines. I was still a schoolboy.
On the track, where the An-2 flew for 40 minutes, he coped in 20 minutes. Comfortable, relative to the An-2, salon. But there was also a big minus - loud noise from the engines in the cabin. After the first flight on it, my ear ached, fever, some kind of liquid flowed.

It is better to compare with the native motor, I think, 800ls with a mass of 140kg and a new saber-shaped screw can easily replace al62 (1000ls, weighing 560kg).

And if they can force it, it will be no worse than a very expensive Americanos.
