The Canadian Air Force received the first two Boeing F / A-18A Hornet fighters that arrived at the Cold Lake Canadian airbase from Australia, the bmpd blog reports.

Canadian Air Force began to receive written off Australian F / A-18A Hornet

An agreement on the acquisition by Canada of twenty-five F / A-18A / B fighters from the Australian Air Force was signed in 2018. According to the agreement, Australia has pledged to supply Canada with the 25 fighter countries being withdrawn from the Air Force, of which 18 must be after repairs and modifications, and 7 were supplied for spare parts. Delivery must be completed before the end of the year.

The situation with the purchase of the Canadian Air Force written off the Australian F / A-18A / B arose after the country's governments, for political and economic reasons, refused to purchase the fifth-generation American fighters Lockheed Martin F-35A (despite the participation of Canada in the "third level" in the program create this aircraft).

The Canadian Air Force in 1982-1988 received X-NUMX CF-138 fighters (F / A-18A / B), of which, to date, only 18 aircraft remain in service (76 aircraft were lost in flight accidents and 20 was already written off). 41 Australian fighter jets will be introduced to the Canadian Air Force to maintain the strength of the fleet.

The acquisition of old Australian aircraft caused a wave of sharp criticism in Canada.

Against this background, it is reported that the Canadian government intends this year to announce a tender for the supply of 88 new fighters to replace the CF-18. It is noted that the American F-35A, which Canada had previously refused, will also participate in the competition. However, the entry into service of the Canadian Air Force for new fighters on the basis of this tender is expected no earlier than 2025 of the year.

The Georgians want to write off the remaining 12, in my opinion, the Su-25, so maybe it’s better to transfer them to Canada? Canada will be happy. And there Ukraine will help. Allies will not give Canada an insult.

Canada has become impoverished, since it is buying off the deceased aircraft.

In Canada, people come first, not the state.
The standard of living of the population of Canada is one of the highest in the world, because money does not go for weapons, but for medicine, education, and social needs.
It all depends on the mentality of the people: some are proud of the armament of the army, others - a high standard of living.

Well yes! Yankees $ 350 lemons to Ukraine for the purchase of weapons, and Canada approved the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin said on Twitter that now "nothing prevents Kiev from receiving weapons from Canada." He thanked Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Foreign Minister Christe Freeland and Defense Minister Harjita Sajana "for their friendly and solidarity towards Ukraine."
Plus $ 25 lemons for "fair" elections in Ukraine. Where is the concern for our own citizens?

by mid-2011, Canada's spending on waging war in Afghanistan amounted to over 11 billion US dollars

Canadians fought in Iraq and in Syria.

So the hierarchy of US "allies" is emerging. Australia sits in this coop clearly taller than Canada.

Canada - right next to the USA. They are being defended by American forces.
Australia - geographically - far away. They have to rely primarily on their army.
In terms of living, both countries are approximately equal, Australia is even richer ($ 58 thousand per person, Canada has about 50)

From Indonesia, for example. The country is 100 millionth, Muslim, overpopulated. Continuous natural disasters: either eruption or tsunami. And the north of Australia is almost not populated, like Siberia in Russia. The Indonesians cross the canoe, quietly found villages.

In that region, there are at least two regional leaders who can compete with the Australians. And from the north, Big Brother with a characteristic cut of eyes is watching the whole Southeast Asia.

8 Australian fighter jets will be included in the Canadian Air Force to maintain the fleet.

Right. As the cat Matroskin said - "so as not to violate reporting." And the fact that this is no longer needed "rarity" does not give a damn.

What rarity is this? Great fighter. All purchased cars are brought gradually to the level of cf-18. Good radar apg-73, missiles aim-120, a serious device. Not new, but as an air defense fighter it’s the very thing, and the Canadians need it.

They have completely different tasks with Canadians. Canadians need an unpretentious platform with two engines, which in the prairies can be repaired in the open. Needed for defense, like an interceptor. And the US Navy needs an offensive platform that can crush the best that opponents have and seize the initiative. And the money is there, like a fool wrappers. As it were, it’s clear that cf-18 is far from a raptor, but not outdated.

cool dough cut: first got involved in the construction of f-35 and invested in money. Then they refused, and now this aircraft will be imposed on them without a discount

Well, the Americans will quickly explain to them what, from whom and how much to buy.
