Suvorov residents of Ulyanovsk infected with echinococcosis were sent to Moscow
Echinococcosis refers to helminthiasis (infection with parasitic worms) of a special type, when parasitic cysts form in the internal organs. Parasites can attack human organs such as the lungs, liver, brain. A person can become infected if he is in contact with infected animals. Veterinarians say that infection can occur both when eating the tissues of infected farm animals, and when contacting, for example, with hunting dogs, in which the helminths may be on the coat. In addition, contamination can occur through contaminated water.
In Ulyanovsk, more than 30 pupils of the Suvorov school have become infected with echinococcosis. The management of the educational institution says that this could not happen through food, calling the contact of children with dogs as the cause of infection.
It is noted that this is the first case of such a massive infection of the mentioned parasite in modern Russia.
The authorities of the Ulyanovsk region today spread the message that sick pupils were sent for treatment in Moscow. Confirmed the fact of sending to the capital 26 Suvorov and their parents.
It is strange that the necessary treatment of children could not be carried out in Ulyanovsk itself, and this is far from a small city.
The main defense department has not yet confirmed the information about sending students from the Suvorov school to Moscow.
Earlier it became known that a criminal case had been opened on the fact of infection of the pupils of the school.
