Complex of intelligence, control and communication "Strelets"

22
When solving a task, the commander of an infantry unit must have contact with his fighters, and also maintain the possibility of sharing data with other units. Proper communication and management are key to the efficient operation of the unit. To solve these problems, a special complex of reconnaissance, control and communications (KRUS) Strelets was created in our country. In the recent past, this system has been upgraded, ensuring the growth of the main characteristics.

KRUS "Strelets" was created by several Russian organizations and enterprises operating in the field of electronic systems. The project participants presented various components for various purposes, which then became part of a full-fledged complex. Now the production samples of the Strelets are manufactured by Radioavionika. Some participants in the development are involved in the production on the rights of suppliers of individual products.

The development of the project "Sagittarius" was completed in the middle of the two thousandth, and already in 2007 the army received the first samples of communication complexes. According to the results of the first years of operation in the reconnaissance units of the ground forces, the Ministry of Defense has compiled a list of necessary improvements. KRUS was refined according to the wishes of the personnel, as a result of which the delivery of its improved version began. Several years ago, a deep modernization was carried out, the result of which was the new complex "Strelets-M".

The Sagittarius and the Sagittarius-M reconnaissance, control and communications complexes are complementary to the Ratnik military outfit. With the help of this equipment, fighters should keep in touch with each other and third-party interlocutors, perform reconnaissance and transmit data, etc. From the point of view of the basic functions and capabilities of the Strelts KRUS, this is a supplement and replacement for the previously used voice communication stations used in land units.

The Sagittarius KRUS has a modular architecture and includes blocks for various purposes. The composition of the blocks used is determined by the position and specialization of a specific fighter. So, the set for simple shooters differs in the reduced complete set, whereas the unit commander may need a full set of blocks. There are also several common blocks used in all trim levels. Total proposed six versions of the "Sagittarius", ensuring the work of fighters of different specializations.

The main “common” element of the complex is a platform unloading vest to which all other devices are attached. Due to the availability of space, this vest can also be used with different pouches for other goods. Near the belt on the base vest are fixed so-called. the hardware container and the container with the rechargeable battery. Various consoles and communications are encouraged to fasten on the chest. Antenna devices of communication facilities of the complex are placed on the shoulders. During the recent modernization, engineers optimized the placement of individual elements of the complex, but the basic principles remained unchanged.

The key component of the Sagittarius KRUS is the hardware container of the AK-1 type. This product is a compact computer in a protected version. Using a variety of cables, AK-1 connects to all other components of the system. Through it also provides power to the entire complex. The KPE-1 primary power supply container is responsible for the power supply.

Communication within the unit and beyond is carried out using the appropriate components of the Sagittarius. The fighter must use a telephone-microphone headset with voice communication and active noise cancellation. Also, the standard computer of the complex is capable of transmitting and receiving data. Reception and transmission of radio signals is provided by an individual radio communication module (MIRS). His antenna device is made in the form of a hemispherical block placed on the waist of the vest. A similar antenna device is used as part of the ICSU - satellite navigation system module.

On the chest of the unloading vest is placed the remote control operational management of the POU. This device has a set of buttons for controlling various functions of the Sagittarius KRUS. It is turned on and off, the use of the radio station, as well as emergency signals. COI is designed in such a way that a soldier can use it as simply and efficiently as possible, including without visual control.

It also provides for the use of a multifunctional MFP console and several types of commander remotes that allow solving relatively complex tasks. With the help of these devices with a graphical interface and push-button control, the unit commander can monitor the tactical situation, receive and transmit data, as well as control the actions of his fighters. In addition, it monitors the state of the soldiers, including the timely detection of injuries.

In later versions of the KRAS "Strelets", full-fledged tablet computerized consoles were introduced for all fighters. Thus, the product "AK" has simplified functions and allows you to receive various information in a timely manner. In addition, it is used as a means of data transfer and navigator. Commanders are invited to use the tablet "TT" with an extended set of functions.

With the KRUS "Strelets" and "Strelets-M" compatible with several existing radio stations that provide data exchange with other units or structures. For communication in the near zone, it is proposed to use the radio station P-853-B2M or P-168-5UN-2. There is a satellite communications station P-438-M. These funds are included in the set of individual fighters.

The Sagittarius reconnaissance, control and communications complex is carried out in several variants corresponding to the fighter's specialization. First of all, basic and advanced kits are offered, including navigation, communication and target designation tools. They should be used by arrows, as well as branch commanders. There are two variants of the complex with various radio stations offered for use by radio operators. A commander’s kit with a full set of tools, a rangefinder kit with a remote-angle-goniometer remote control unit 4 have also been developed. The latter can be used to determine the coordinates of the target, and also has the functions of photo and video. Finally, the customer is offered a set of Fara-BP radar operator.

Depending on the configuration, the soldier's KRUS “Strelets” or “Strelets-M” can continuously operate from an existing battery for 8-12 h. Radio-electronic means initially provided communication between the fighters at distances up to 1,5 km. In the future, the range of direct communication was increased. The equipment of each soldier can also perform the functions of a repeater, so that the maximum range of communication increases, respectively, the configuration of this "network". It is also possible to interact with other repeaters of the ground-based or air-based signal.

The remote measuring device Remote Control-4 provides observation and determination of object coordinates at distances up to 3-5 km. It has the function of photo and video shooting with file transfer to the unit commander. However, the use of these functions and the benefits of them are directly related to the current state of the radio. In some situations, transferring a video file can be difficult and time consuming.

Using the appropriate set of modules, the unit commander can monitor the status of his soldiers in real-time, monitor their status, and also transmit orders or receive reports. The remote-tablet displays information in graphical form, and is also capable of processing various commands and transmitting the necessary data to the fighters in the entire range of communication means. Soldiers, respectively, can take instructions from the commander and report on their implementation with the help of their own simplified complexes.

One of the first in the Russian army of the SAC "Sagittarius" mastered reconnaissance units of the ground forces. With the use of new systems, they are able to observe, find various objects and carry out guidance aviation or artillery, or simply transmit data to headquarters.

When solving reconnaissance tasks, the work of the unit equipped with Sagittarius looks relatively easy. Being in the observation position, the reconnaissance aircraft with the remote control unit 4 must perform target detection and determine its coordinates. Directly from the remote control-4, information about the target is transmitted via radio to the commander's tablet. The latter can send it to the gunners or contact direct support aviation and perform target designation.

In the course of performing other combat missions, the Strelets / Strelets-M complex to a certain extent simplifies the work of the fighters. With its help, the commander can set specific tasks for them, determine and forward the routes of movement, as well as receive tactical information from various sources in a timely manner. All this seriously simplifies the management of the unit and interaction on the battlefield, including with other units or structures.

***

The first samples of the Sagittarius reconnaissance, control and communications complex were transferred to the Russian army in 2007. The operators of this equipment became the units of military intelligence. Taking into account the operational experience in the army, improvements and upgrades were carried out both for individual components and for the entire complex. In addition, several years ago, a new modernization was carried out, which resulted in the Strelts-M KRUS. Now the Russian armed forces receive products of new models with advanced features and capabilities.

In 2013, it was reported that the 1000 Sagittarius serial sets are in service with the army. As far as is known, in the future Rosavionika OJSC and related enterprises continued to produce such equipment, and its number in the army constantly increased. Thus, a significant proportion of Russian ground units and subunits are equipped with new equipment and can solve combat missions with increased efficiency.

From the end of the two thousandth, first intelligence officers, and then representatives of other specialties regularly used the KRUS "Strelets" / "Strelets-M" in the course of various exercises. At the end of the last decade, the complex was tested as a target designation tool for aviation and artillery. In particular, in practice, they confirmed the possibility of effective interaction with existing front-line bombers and artillery systems.

The project KRUS "Strelets" implemented several important ideas and solutions, with the help of which an effective data exchange between fighters and units is provided, simplifying the solution of the tasks set. To date, the Russian army managed to get a significant number of such complexes and begin their full operation. Such equipment increases the combat capability of units and has a positive effect on the state of all armed forces.

The company is called OJSC "Radioavionika", in the photo there is not the first version of the product, but the third. 5 and 6 photos have nothing to do with the product. The author of the article, even in open sources, does not possess information about the product and gives erroneous information. There is a separate song about Sagittarius-M. To begin with, it was worth at least a glimpse of reading the article dated February 27.02.2012, XNUMX - there would be fewer errors and erroneous information.

Such equipment increases the combat effectiveness of units and has a positive effect on the state of all armed forces.

Let's just say that it is precisely the qualitative connection between all units of the army that makes it possible to create a single organism.
Just for comparison - in the same WOT in the battle there are 15 people, without communication and each on his own mind, and in opponents, his equal opponent - but with communication. The difference will be huge.
It reminded of 1941, when there was a radio station on every German tank, and we only had a commander’s one, and there were signal flags with the rest.))
And in network-centric systems, communication will go almost to the first place in importance in general.

Depending on the configuration, the SAGITTARIUS or SAGITTARIUS-M KRUS can continuously work on the available battery for 8-12 hours.

Question to the author - does this time interval cover the entire temperature range of the complex application, or is it designed to work at a temperature of 20 plus or minus 5 C?
And most importantly - how to charge the batteries in the field and what is used for this? Judging by the advertising, there will be several dozen such complexes, even in one motorized rifle company, which means that the problem of simultaneous charging will become an edge. And what do they propose to solve it?

I don’t know for Sagittarius, long ago from the army, but in the distant 80s, charging small r / s was solved simply - due to the heat of the back. Well, the chargers were with them, with constant work they were enough for a day. I still don’t understand how they charged 2 sets of batteries.

In parts of the Special Forces, the Belt was used, but it was not charged at the expense of the back, but only allowed the battery to be kept warm, which increased its ability to release energy in cold weather. Charging was carried out from a manual generator or from solar panels, and this is all additional weight and considerable. All other chargers are from the mains or from generators.

No, I'm not talking about the Belt. Roughly speaking, a sheet of foil with wires. At least on the back (when it is "in the soap"), at least on the radiator of the car. We did not have manual generators. There were “finger” boxes on the belt belt under the battery - for “night vision” (I don’t remember the name, long-wearing infrared binocular, about 200 meters, probably “saw.” It was long ago, in the early 80s. But not Roult - one-eyed, sort of.). So the battery was enough for 6 hours, then they were in a box on the belt, and new ones were on the back of the head, there the batteries were attached.
There were also r / c, which were attached with a clothespin to the collar of the jacket, and the microphone was called a chekophone, because it was attached to the cheek with a suction cup. Until you sweat it hangs like a native. It will fall off, wipe your cheek with your hand, lick the suction cup, stick it in place. It seems that the Crossbows were called, but I will not say.

I know that the temperature difference between the body and the environment is not enough to charge the battery if thermocouples are used, even low-temperature ones. Therefore, if there was a charge, then at the level of milliamps. But I don’t remember something about such devices.

This is very cool - as they say, take off my hat.
By the way, you may be interested in Kikeshev's book "Get Up and Go", if you have not read it - in my opinion, it quite accurately describes the events of those days.

This battery also needs to be recharged, and for this you need a generator or an alternative current source of high power. The question is so interesting that those who were not connected with the charge of a large number of small-sized REA simply do not understand what kind of problem this is in the field. That's why I wanted to know from the author how they are going to solve this issue, taking into account the fact that this problem has existed since Soviet times.

Is it a breakthrough or a breakthrough? As for 2019, this is the bottom, in terms of functionality, ergonomics and parameters. Although, depending on which army.

lambert (Andrey Lambert) wrote correctly. There are a lot of mistakes in the article. If I hadn't come across "Sagittarius" personally, I wouldn't have understood the article at all. it is dimly written and does not correspond to reality.
By the way, the air controllers in Syria are using "SAGITTARIUS".

To answer the question whether it is a jerk or a bottom, conduct an analysis in which countries and in what quantity there are similar sets.
On my own, I’ll say that in reality the series was Land Warrior only, I have no information about the completion of the contract for Felline and Gladius.

And where is this Sagittarius in the troops? As far as I understand, the money was completely spent on this system.
