Paranoid America
To better understand what will be discussed, you will have to turn to medicine at the very beginning. More precisely, to psychiatry. We’ll not dig deep, but we’ll take a look at the general concepts.
On definition of of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia, paranoia is a persistent mental disorder, manifested by systematic delusions (without hallucinations), which is characterized by complexity of content, consistency of evidence and external plausibility (ideas of persecution, jealousy, high origin, invention, scientific discoveries, special mission of social transformation and d.) All facts contradicting delirium are swept aside; everyone who does not share the convictions of the patient qualifies them as a hostile person. Emotional background corresponds to the content of delirium. The struggle for approval, the implementation of delusions is adamant and active. There are no obvious signs of intellectual decline, professional skills usually persist for a long time. In modern psychiatry, the prevailing view is that paranoia is a symptom complex that occurs during schizophrenia and some other mental illnesses ...
Enough. Very informative, is not it? Do you recognize anyone? Why are you so!
Doesn't anything remind you of special mission of social transformation? And this struggle for the approval and implementation of delusions, which adamant and active?
The most important thing: All facts contradicting delirium are swept aside; anyone who does not share the patient's beliefs qualifies them as a hostile person.
I'll tell you.
John McCain likes to repeat the special mission of social transformation. Arizona's senior senator, in 2008, lost to current president Barack Obama in elections, now says in his address: "This administration is helpless in foreign policy and refuses to rule America ... This is really a renunciation of everything that America stands for and believes in."
McCain relentlessly and actively fights for the approval and implementation of delusions, and anyone who does not share his beliefs immediately qualifies as a hostile person. Constantly reiterating the need for an American air strike on Syria, this senator is sad that the Syrian issue was not on the agenda of the recent NATO summit in Chicago. And the very fact that the question remains a question, it seems, it turns out strongly, pushing for social transformation. The more in the world of such unresolved issues, according to McCain, the less America looks like a hegemon: “All this is not only sad and regrettable. Near 10000, civilians in Syria were killed by the Bashar al-Assad regime during unjust battles with the help of Russian weapons and Iranian militants operating in the country. And the United States refuses to help! Some of the countries of the Persian Gulf, led by Saudi Arabia, intend to supply weapons to the rebels. However, the situation urgently requires American leadership. We could create a safe zone for resistance and supply him with a weapon, but America does not want to. This is a shameful episode of our stories. President Obama’s “behind the scenes leadership” tells us that he does not believe in the exclusivity of the United States. ”
Aga: "... with the help of Russian weapons and Iranian militants operating in the country." Here you have a couple of enemies.
“I am grateful to the president (Obama. - O. Ch.) For that, - says McCain, - that he gave the order to eliminate Osama bin Laden. But it seems to me that any other president in his place would have taken exactly the same decision. Why, then, so boast about it? Heroes with whom I happened to meet, kept modestly. When I travel the world, I hear foreign politicians say that America is weak and withdraws into itself. ”
All the facts contradicting delirium, McCain rejects. Judge for yourself: “Transferring weapons to the resistance to fight the councils in Afghanistan, - says McCain was not a mistake. The mistake was to give the Afghans their own fate after the Russians left. ” Indeed, one had to stay, foster al-Qaeda further, feeding it with precious money. And let yourself thinks Henry Kissinger: “Remember, we already once made a mistake in the past, arming the Taliban to fight against the Soviet invaders, who then became a threat to our security. Will we repeat this mistake again? ”... Know McCain that Kissinger has his own opinion about the Taliban, he would have him qualified as a hostile person.
Mitt Romney, a potential presidential candidate who is now winning the “primaries” in one state or another, takes an example from McCain.
In keeping with, like Mr. Senator, opinions about America’s special social mission in the world, Romney I decided Syrian question: “The United States and its allies must organize and arm the Syrian opposition groups so that they can protect themselves.”
Find the enemies Mr. Romney knows how not only nearby, but also across the ocean: "Russia, without a doubt, is our geopolitical enemy number one." This phrase, which he said in an interview with CNN, that is, on television, is connected with the conversation of Barack Obama and Dmitry Medvedev overheard through the turned on microphone, in which the words of the American president were heard about "maneuvering space." Romney, of course, did not make a reservation. On the contrary he developed patient convictions: “Russia is not our friend. The fact that the president (Obama) expects to find (after the elections in November) a space for maneuver, when he gets the opportunity not to hold an answer before the American people in terms of relations with Russia, I am very worried. ”
The struggle of Mr. Romney for the approval and implementation of delusions is continuing on the field of the defense budget. If Mr. Obama believes that the United States has a lot of debt and America needs to tighten its belts, including the military department, too, then belligerent Mitt Romney believes that it is necessary to do the opposite: not to cut the defense budget, but to increase it. If he wins the presidential election in November 2012, Barack Obama promises to reduce defense spending to 1,6% of GDP - this is in the next 5 years. But Mr. Romney has planned to spend 4% of GDP annually on the “defense”. For ten years, by Mike Shedlock's calculationsThis will total 8,3 trillion. dollars - a third more than the humble Pentagon asks!
Verbal activity of a potential presidential candidate allowed observer Mark Adomanis count Mitt Romney’s world views are superficial, arrogant, and ultimately stupid.
Of course, we can say that George W. Bush, who easily found only Africa on the world map, did not shine with brilliant conclusions, but Mr. Romney, according to his numerous statements, belongs to the same paranoid breed.
Bush, by the way, you can not quote. (Well, except for one crazy idea that was long ridiculed on the Internet: “These people are trying to shake the will of the Iraqi people and they want us to leave Iraq ... I think the whole world would be better if we really took gone ... ";" I will not withdraw troops [from Iraq], even if Laura and Barney are the only ones who will support me "). The diagnosis of this former president, who ruled America for 8 years, is quite official. A special book was written about this man in 2004: “Bush on a Psychiatrist's Couch: Inside the Presidential Mind”. Its author is American Justin Frank, a psychoanalyst, who found in George Bush dyslexia, paranoia, megalomania, a number of violations of thought processes, and in addition a tendency toward sadism.
Paranoia is paranoia, but the trouble is not in Bush, McCain or even Romney. The trouble is that they, paranoids, always stick together. This is a very friendly company.
Mitt Romney as a presidential candidate already supported the both Bush Jr. and Bush Sr., and Barbara Bush, and Senator Marco Rubio, and many more who consider Obama to be a democratic weakling, shameful great dictatorial america. The trouble is that for Romney in the elections ready to vote 43% of respondents in the United States - just because he is not Obama. And this means that Obama did not fit well into the company of paranoids who run America - and they are going to push him from the political Olympus. And so many respondents whose adamant and active reasoning allows them to accept Romney, without delving into what he is, suggest the idea of widespread paranoia throughout America.
You say: yes, this is a private argument, the author is not a psychiatrist, and he built an amateur theory, humorously fitting it to the definition from TSB. Nah ... I was well prepared. At least four with a plus. And I know the reading public a little bit. Give her all authority. If not presidential candidates, then candidates of science. And even better - doctors. Well, read the next chapter.
Ii. Professor Tracy's collection
3 June on resource globalresearch.ca Professor James F. Tracy's article “The United States as a Police State: The Paranoid Style of American Governance” was published. Professor Tracy is an associate professor of media research at Florida Atlantic University and a frequent contributor to Global Research.
The concept of “paranoid style” of governance in America came into use in 1964, when Harper magazine published an essay “Paranoid Style in American Politics,” written by historian and public figure Richard Hofstadter. The assassination of President John F. Kennedy, according to Hofstadter, has become a symbol of liberal anxiety about serious and in many cases unresolved issues regarding the forces behind US government. This very “paranoid style” helped to create the general term “conspiracy theories” (now, perhaps, this is one of the strongest expressions in the American political lexicon). “American politics was often the scene of angry minds,” was how Hofstadter wrote. And he added: “I call it paranoid style, simply because there is no other word for the adequate expression of a feeling that accurately conveys ardor, exaggeration, suspicion, and conspiratorial fantasies — that is what I mean.”
Americans, writes James F. Tracy, usually reassure themselves that they live in a democracy, with a rational and responsible government that adapts to their needs. But what if this government itself, Professor Tracy asks, when creating and applying even fair laws, while defending the country's borders and interests abroad, shows paranoia according to Hofstadter? What if in relation to those whom the government should serve and whom it is obliged to protect, it has various suspicions and some conspiracy fantasies?
US law, says Tracy, is a whole exhibit of excessive suspicion. This "exhibition" clearly demonstrates that the paranoid style has soaked the American government, in particular, over the past 10 years. On the particularly strong manifestation of symptoms, according to Tracy, the adoption of new laws, programs and orders, starting with 11 September 2001, testifies.
Indeed, the professor notes, the sharp increase in suspicion of the American government over the past decade — combined with contempt and violent and criminal aggression toward innocent people at home and abroad — indicates the possibility of the onset of what may well be considered paranoid schizophrenia. With the development of such a state, the subject as a whole suffers from acute persecution mania and suffers from illusory power, which he perceives as something that seeks to harm him.
However, as it becomes clear from an analysis conducted by Professor Tracy, the paranoia of America’s top executives manifested itself long before the 11 September 2001 attack of the year. As proofs of his words, the author cites a number of legislative acts testifying to the “progression” of the paranoid style of the American leadership, especially since 2001.
Below are the most "paranoid" laws and regulations adopted in the United States and present in the collection of Professor Tracy.
Law 1798 on foreign enemies. Gave the president the power to detain and deport foreigners residing in the country, if their home country was at war with the United States of America. It is curious that the provisions of this legal act are valid today.
The 1917 spying law of the year. It declares it a crime to intervene in a war, military service, or an attempt to help a nation at war with the United States.
The law of incitement 1918. An expanded version of the 1917 espionage law of the year. Covers a wider range of crimes, in particular, an expression of opinion that exposes the government or military action in a negative light or prevents the sale of government bonds.
Operation Garden / REX 84. The general plan of the US military response to major civil unrest in the United States. It makes it possible to suspend the US Constitution and declare martial law. The plan of operation was developed in response to 1960's civil unrest. Currently, the North Command (NORTHCOM) is responsible for implementing the plan.
Executive Order No. 12656, 1988 year. The National Security Council is authorized to be the main body in dealing with emergency situations. Allows the government to strengthen domestic intelligence and monitor US citizens. It may restrict freedom of movement within the United States and give the government the right to isolate large groups of citizens.
The Anti-Terrorism Act 1995. Allows the US government to use data from secret sources in the process of deportation of foreigners suspected of terrorist activities. Deportees do not have the right to know their prosecutors. It establishes a separate responsibility for the financing of the organization, which, in the opinion of the President of the United States, is involved in terrorist activities - even if the established donation was not intended for terrorist activities.
US Patriot Act 2001 of the Year. The decree came into force in response to 11’s September 2001 attacks. Provides a wide range of US government powers: monitoring, accessing personal records, monitoring financial transactions, educational, medical and other information, wiretapping, email tracking, web monitoring and mobile calls. The law includes the activities of anti-war activists, large-scale demonstrations for justice, environmental protection and even ... animal rights as “crimes of internal terrorism”. Civil disobedience and dissent, of any kind, can be included in a comprehensive legal definition. The law is made vague on purpose - to mark almost everything that will be declared "terrorism" at the discretion of the government.
By law, the US government may confiscate or freeze all foreign and domestic assets of any individual or organization accused of participating in, planning, supporting, hiding, or committing any action deemed to be domestic or international terrorism against America.
Establishment of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), 2001 year. This structure was created in response to the 11 September 2001 attacks. In fact, this is a branch of the US federal government, which is an internal analogue of the US Department of Defense. The primary responsibilities of DHS are to protect the United States and US territories from terrorist attacks, as well as from man-made accidents and natural disasters. In the 2011 fiscal year, this structure was allocated a budget of 98.800.000.000 dollars, 66,4 was spent billion dollars, and the staff employed 200.000 people.
John Warner Defense Act of Empowerment (HR 5122) 2007. Allows the US president to declare a “state of emergency”, send troops to any point of the country and take control of the state with the help of the National Guard, without the consent of the governor or local authorities, with the goal of “suppressing the disturbance of public order”.
Authorizing act of national defense, 2011 year. Transmits cases of internal terrorist investigations, as well as interrogations into the hands of the military. Allows you to remove the due process of law, indefinitely keep in custody of any person, including an American citizen. For such detention, you only need the assertion of the American government that these comrades are terrorists.
Community Against Terrorism, 2011 year. The FBI and the Department of Justice organized a campaign to attract workers to as many as twenty-five industries to spy on their colleagues and citizens in general. Spies should report to federal authorities. Misters of spies are recruited according to this program in hotels, motels, among the staff of dive operators, among drivers, real estate agents, tattoo parlors, Internet café workers, etc.
Food Regulations, 2012 year. This decree, adopted by 16 March 2012, updates the power of the president. When the decree enters into force, the president gets the right to take control of all state energy sources, including oil and natural gas, to gain control over all civilian traffic, and even provides an opportunity to reintroduce the draft in order to achieve both military and non-military goals of the country.
Acquisition of sufficient ammunition by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to eliminate the entire US population. 2012 year. DHS signs an “unspecified supply” of almost 500 with millions of powerful ammunition for 0,40 firearms with military contractors. The department says it expects deliveries to continue for five years.
It is necessary to recognize: the masters, who are holy believers in the mission of social transformation, who are actively fighting for the approval and realization of their ideas, really know how qualify those comrades they don't like. In a large democratic country, accustomed to subjugate and command at a world parade, it is very easy to declare those who disagree with terrorists or their accomplices, including financial ones. Any hotel receptionist, hairdresser, tattoo artist, diver or taxi driver can hand you over to the police or DHS. And then explain in pure English to some specialist who has become rude at Guantanamo that you know you don’t know the bearded az-Zawahiri.
