Russia begins deepwater laying of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline

49
Deepwater pipe laying for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will begin next week. TO flotilla vessels pulling a gas pipeline along the bottom of the Baltic Sea will join the largest pipe-laying vessel Pioneering Spirit on Monday. This was reported by the operator company Nord Stream 2 AG.

Russia begins deepwater laying of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline

According to the announcement, with the arrival of the ship Pioneering Spirit, the stage of laying the deepwater section of the gas pipeline in the exclusive economic zone of Finland will begin. The vessel is currently going to one of the ports of Denmark, where it will spend several days for mobilization work, after which it will proceed to the Baltic Sea and join the vessels already leading the construction of the gas pipeline. Previously, the ship Pioneering Spirit, owned by the Swiss company Allseas, was engaged in laying pipes of the Turkish Stream.

Currently, the laying of the Nord Stream-2 is also carried out by two vessels owned by the Swiss company. One works in shallow water in Germany, the second - in the waters of Finland. At the beginning of November this year, 300 km of the gas pipeline were laid. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2019.

Earlier it was reported that the US Congress voted to oppose the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.

Now the Maidan brought Germany a headache .. of course they were counting on benefits, but they miscalculated .. however, as always .. Maidan is contagious.
Now Germany is more concerned about the French Maidan: as if in protestant mass protests did not creep. The Germans have accumulated their questions for the Fuhrerin Merkel. It may also flare up and spread. Then the whole of Europe flares up to please Trump.

Well, Macron did nothing to counter American influence, unless he supported the idea of a European army. And these riots will soon lead to its creation. Because NATO is a global military bloc, and here are intra-European problems. SP-2 is essentially the culmination of the Great Gas War. And it is clear that the gas transportation system of Ukraine, especially in the event of a war, will stop gas transit. How else? And because of a drop in gas production in the EU itself, there is nothing to replace it, and SP-2, even while maintaining the transit transit, is simply necessary to replace the drop. LNG is expensive, but again, the Russian Federation can supply it at dumping prices in order to drive competitors, including the United States. So after all, the construction of SP-2 is already underway, and the recent squeak of Israel and others about a competitive pipe, all this is only in the virtual, and SP-2 is already a reality. Yes, of course they can suspend it, but American heads will roll in Afghanistan and Syria. The Russian Federation will exit the sanctions regime with Iran and North Korea, supply them with advanced systems, but simply enter Ukraine and spread the banderlogs, SP-2 binds our hands more. As an option, Ukro GTS can be captured physically. Are they ready for this? Are the Poles and gadgets ready to lay down their heads for trade interests? They were unable to fight for WWII for their homeland ...

We will not be able to dump, because the sale of LNG to an intermediary does not guarantee that the intermediary will not set its price for gas for the final consumer, which will be equal to the price that has developed on the gas market. We do not transport so many with our gas carriers in the framework of the global volume. It turns out that we will give the lion's share of our profits to an intermediary.

They start selling Qatar LNG and earn money, gas costs Europe more, which weakens Europe, but increases US influence .. And if we don’t come, then Putin will suffer even greater reputation losses in Russia, although he has nothing to lose, and we’ll definitely get an American base in Ukraine and in 10 80% of Ukraine’s population will hate Russia and eventually they will be charged with us for war ... So next year we expect a massive attack on the Donbass with all the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There is no need for an excuse. It’s just possible to come up. For example, the Russians attacked and we reflect aggression. and no one will understand. There will be sanctions against companies that are building as well as countries. ..... now in full swing with German partners are discussing JV-3 on 55 billion cubic meters.

I agree with you, Sarmat Sanych (Sergey), and I have to repeatedly use figures to show doubters that their gas production in Europe is declining, and Russian gas imports are increasing:
          1) The needs of the whole of Europe 550 billion cubic meters. m per year. (data for 2017 year)

          2) Europe extracts 250 billion cubic meters for itself m. gas per year. (45%). Europe will not be able to increase its gas production, their deposits are depleted, there are no new ones, therefore, its production will be reduced.

          3) In 2017, Gazprom delivered 194 billion cubic meters to Europe. m. (35%). Gazprom's supplies to Europe grow by 8% annually and will continue to grow.

          4) The rest of the gas comes from Algeria, Qatar, Nigeria. about (20%)

          5) "October 26, 2018
European buyers of Russian gas sent to Gazprom application for the supply of additional 50 billion cubic meters. m per year in excess of existing contracts, said Elena Burmistrova, CEO of Gazprom Export, at the Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona. "

          6)
According to the consensus forecast, Europe’s demand for additional gas imports in comparison with the 2015 year will be: about 113 billion cubic meters m in 2025 year и 150 billion cubic meters m in the year 2035.

          слайд 6 http://www.gazprom.ru/f/posts/80/754957/presentation-press-conf-2016-05-31-ru.pdf

          7) TANAP will export 16 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Shah Deniz field on the Caspian shelf, including 6 billion to Turkey, and 10 billion - to Europe.

          8) The eastern Mediterranean (Israel, Cyprus and Egypt), according to the most favorable estimates of experts, in 5 years they will probably (not yet a fact) be able to export - about 27 billion cube m / year.

So where is Europe to take additional gas 100-150 billion cubic meters. m per year? The answer is obvious - in Russia.
About American LNG, it is better not to stutter, from the word in general - in just two years (2016 / 17), LNG imports from the USA to Europe amounted to 2,8 billion cubic meters. This is 0,28% !!!!! from all imported gas by Europe for 2 of the year.

Absolutely vr! More about Omerican LNG, I’ll add something:
Swiss Vitol, the world's largest oil and gas trader, signed a 15-year contract with the main LNG exporter Cheniere Energy in September this year and will supply 700 thousand tons per year to the EU. 700 thousand tons of LNG is 1 billion cubic meters. Gazprom, I recall, delivers 200 billion cubic meters to Europe. And the main US exporter signed a contract for 1 (ONE) billion. But the funny thing is that a lot of people still believe that Amer.Gas is competing with Russia for Europe and therefore the Americans want to block SP-2laughing. Since 2016, when the United States began to export LNG, less than 30 cargo went to the EU. At the same time, 370 tankers, most of them to Asia, left Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass terminal.

Yes, and in the LNG market in Europe, the United States, even with such small volumes, apparently does not feel confident. As recently as yesterday, the State Department was worried about transshipment in Norwegian waters from ice tankers to conventional LNG from Yamal - they say it undermines Europe’s efforts to diversify supplies. Norway has stated that it is not yet “concerned” with the “side to side” transshipment, but ... I hope that, as promised, in the mid-20s they will build Baltic LNG for 13 million tons. Merkel promised to support the new LNG terminal with money from the budget ... I wonder what kind of LNG there will be more Russian or American. Sarmat Sanych (Sergey) and BrTurin (Boris), and in addition to the above, a cherry on the cake, about LNG.
Yesterday, Dmitry Medvedev launched the third phase of the Yamal LNG plant:
“With the launch of all the lines of the Yamal LNG plant, Russia's share in the global LNG market will increase by 2,5 times and reach about 10%”

In total, Yamal LNG consists of three lines, each with a capacity of 5,5 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year. Investments in the project amounted to $ 27 billion. The majority shareholder is NOVATEK, which has 50,1% of the shares. French Total and Chinese CNPC each have 20% of the shares, and 9,9% are owned by Silk Road Fund (China).
Thus, now the plant has reached full design capacity - 16,5 million tons of LNG annually. To produce this quantity, NOVATEK divisions will have to produce in Yamal per year at least 23 billion cubic meters natural gas.

The route is the shortest; the construction cost is essentially the price of a three-year transit fee in Ukraine; the state of the Ukrainian GTS is deplorable; GPS on highways is remembered even from early Brezhnev and is completely ineffective, etc., etc. In general, the gas transportation system of Ukraine is suitable for a complete technological death (without any policy), alternative routes are objectively needed. And burying money in the Ukrainian Field of miracles ... no thanks. Svidomo experts remained of course. Alas, world medicine has not yet learned how to treat it.

With the USA, let us recall a similar story with the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline, built by the USSR in 1983.
This gas pipeline was built with much more aggressive US opposition with the introduction of real sanctions by Ronald Reagan and much more significant than are hypothetically discussed now - Moscow Narodny Bank Limited (now VTB) blocked international operations and banned the export of technology for this gas pipeline. The historical parallels are even stronger when you consider that the gas pipeline was also built during the acute political crisis and Poland was on the verge of a civil war. However, Germany’s similar geopolitical interests in controlling energy flows led Germany to provide financing for this gas pipeline, provided technology, ignored the damage to the liberal democratic forces in Poland for the construction of the gas pipeline, and ultimately suppressed the US’s unfavorable US policy in Europe despite the myths of puppetry German government

There are storms in the Baltic, downtime in weather work is insignificant, you can work in winter, worked.

The presence of a southern system of gas supplies to Europe (TP-2, projects through Greece to Italy and through Bulgaria, Austria and Hungary) with a Damocles sword whist over Germany. In the event that Merkel bends or lies (as anyone likes) under Trump - goodbye to the hegemony of the Germans in the EU, because Germany without a gas pipe is not afraid of anyone.
