The press service of Rostec announced the completion of the development of the VK-2500P engine for the newest Mi-28HM “Night Hunter” helicopter by the United Engine Corporation (UEC), as well as the launch of the engines into mass production.
The main difference between the new engine and the previous one was the modernized automatic control system, due to which maintenance is greatly simplified, safety and flight characteristics of the helicopter are improved.
The operating power of the engine in take-off mode is 2500 hp, at the extreme - 2800 hp, which on 100 hp more than the previous version of the engine. Resource before the first overhaul now amounted to 3000 hour / cycles, exceeding the previous one and a half times.
The attack helicopter Mi-28НМ is a high-performance all-weather helicopter of a new generation. Able to perform a wide range of tasks, from aerial reconnaissance and target designation, to the destruction of airborne, including low-flying, low-speed, and ground targets. Developed by Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Rostec.
