The large landing craft (BDK) of the Pyotr Morgunov project of the 11711 project will begin testing complex no later than March of next year, and in June it will be released on factory running trials, said the general director of the Baltic Yantar Shipbuilding Plant Eduimov, the factory newspaper Vperyd reported.
In particular, the CEO stated that the readiness of the 11711 project under construction at the Yantar Baltic CVD Yantar in Kaliningrad is high. On January 2019 of the year, the crew of the ship will be settled, the beginning of the tests will begin in February-March, in order to begin the factory trials in June. In early November of this year, power was supplied to the ship from the shore, and regular lighting and a nasal power station began to work.
BDK "Peter Morgunov" is the second ship of the project 11711 and the first serial after the head BDK "Ivan Gren." This series of BDK project 11711 will be limited to only two ships instead of the planned construction of six. BDK is currently in the process of being completed after launching at the end of May this year. Earlier it was reported about the plans of the CVD "Yantar" to transfer the BDK to the Russian Navy four years after its founding, which took place in the 2015 year.
BDK 11711 is the latest development of Project 1171, according to which in 1960-1970 the Yantar Shipyard built a series of 14 ships. The ship can accommodate 13 tanks or more than 30 armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles. The BKD also provides for the deployment of a reinforced battalion of the Marine Corps, as well as the temporary deployment of various types of ship helicopters. The ship has a cruising range of 4 thousand nautical miles, which allows you to perform tasks in the far sea zone.
