The ground control complex of the Indonesian satellite TELKOM-3 was created in the Krasnoyarsk Territory
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, work has been completed on the creation of the ground-based satellite control complex TELKOM-3, commissioned by the Indonesian telecom operator PT Telekomunikasi Tbk. The works were carried out by designers and specialists of Russia's largest enterprise for the production of unmanned space satellites "Information Satellite Systems named after Academician M. Reshetnev" (ISS).
As reported by the press service of the enterprise, in the framework of the implementation of international contracts, the ISS creates not only spacecraft, but is also responsible for the construction of ground control complexes on the territory of the customer. The complex is a platform where antenna and control and measurement systems are located, as well as the mission control center (MCC).
Today, the ground control complex is fully operational. The ISS specialists carried out the necessary tests, which confirmed the correct functioning of the software and receiving and transmitting equipment. “A software simulator, a computer model of a spacecraft, was manufactured for testing at the enterprise. With its help, the company’s employees obtained telemetric information and worked out the satellite control commands,” explained in the ISS.
In the course of testing, a connection was also established between the Indonesian MCC and the TELKOM-3 spacecraft installed on the assembly tests at the ISS. The satellite successfully executed all commands sent from the flight control center.
The object will be commissioned after the launch of the TELKOM-3 satellite in early July and the completion of tests in orbit. Until that time, the spacecraft from the MCC in Indonesia will be controlled by ISS specialists.
The Telkom-3 satellite was designed and manufactured on the basis of the middle-class platform Express-1000Н. Its tasks include the provision of telecommunications services, television and Internet access in Indonesia and Indochina. Within the framework of the project, the ICS is responsible for the development, manufacture of the platform and the design of the payload module, integration, testing of the spacecraft, as well as the creation of its ground control complex.
