A large landing ship (BDK) of the Russian Navy "Orsk" passed the Black Sea straits and entered the Mediterranean. This is reported by local Internet sites, monitoring the situation in the Bosphorus.
BDK "Orsk" is sent to the Syrian port of Tartus, where the logistics base of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea is located, and this campaign is already the ninth only for this BDK. Earlier on Tuesday, the Black Sea Fleet Admiral Makarov, a frigate of the Black Sea Fleet, passed through the Black Sea straits into the Mediterranean Sea and became part of the permanent operational compound of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea.
According to foreign media and Internet resources, the BDK "Orsk" along with other auxiliary ships fleet Russia is participating in Operation Syrian Express, which provides material support for the Russian Khmeimim air base, logistics base in Tartus and the Syrian government army.
The large landing ship Orsk of the 1171 project was laid in Kaliningrad at the Yantar shipyard 30 in August 1967 of the year as BDK-69.
