The material states that a technical service employee got from a cannon into an airplane, which at that moment was preparing for flight. As a result, the plane exploded on the runway.
The F-16 of the Belgian Air Force is completely burned out. The whole territory of the airbase was clouded with thick black smoke. The flames spread to another fighter standing a few meters away, which suffered not so much.
Serious injuries and burns were received by two technicians who prepared the plane for flight.
