Pakistan expresses extreme concern over the possible purchase by India of the latest Russian anti-aircraft missile systems C-400, reports RIA News with reference to the statement by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan Favad Chowdhury on the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York.
According to Chowdhury, India’s purchase of C-400’s Russian ZRS will be a “problem for Islamabad,” since New Delhi uses its power against Pakistan, they are building up forces against Pakistan. The minister noted that Pakistan is also striving for rapprochement with Russia and therefore Moscow should pay attention to Islamabad, and not just New Delhi. At the same time, Chowdhury stressed that Pakistan is ready for dialogue with India and even offered to hold talks, but India does not agree to this. New Delhi is preparing for a confrontation with Islamabad and is building up "muscles."
The minister noted that Islamabad would like to develop partnership relations between Russia and Pakistan not only in the military sphere, although this is a priority, but also in the media industry and cultural programs.
Earlier, Indian media reported that the Government of India made the final decision to purchase five C-400 AOM regiments from Russia. The final contract will be signed in early October 2018 of the year during the visit to India of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
