Soldiers of the “Combined Forces Operations” (EPO) received the armored personnel carrier BTR-4E “Bucephalus”, said the press service of EPC on a page on Facebook.

"Bucephalus" came to Donbass. OOS received a new Ukrainian BTR-4Е

As reported on the OOS page, Bucephalus can "effectively counteract even heavy armored vehicles of the type tanks T-72, which is in the arsenal of the Russian-occupying forces. "The OOS military personnel have already appreciated the combat capabilities of the new combat vehicle. The OOS headquarters noted that the armored personnel carrier is equipped with a" powerful 30-mm cannon "and a combat module that includes anti-tank guided missiles “Stugna.” In addition, it has two water-jet propulsors and pumps for pumping water, so it is able to swim to force water barriers.

BTR-4E "Bucephalus" was developed by the State Enterprise "Kharkov Design Bureau for Mechanical Engineering" and is produced at the "Malyshev Plant". Development began in the 2002 year, the prototype BTR-4 was first demonstrated at the Aerosvit exhibition in the 2006 year. Under the designation BTR-4 in July 2012, the car was adopted by the Ukrainian army. In 2016, an armored personnel carrier was tested on the water. It is designed to transport fighters of mechanized units and fire support in battle.

The maximum combat weight is 17,5 tons, with additional armor protection - up to 25 tons. The crew - three people: the commander, operator, driver. The landing party is 7 – 9 people. The diesel engine ZTD with horsepower 500 provides the maximum speed on the highway 110 kilometers per hour, afloat - 10 kilometers per hour, the range of fuel - 690 kilometers.

If the performance characteristics correspond to the officially declared, then this device is not so bad.

It has too many imported components. The captured BTR-4 in the DPR could not be operated for a long time due to the lack of spare parts.

      Militiamen burned a few pieces:

TTX of any such machine is, in principle, not bad. It all depends on the conditions and the correct application.

And how is it, or rather, what will the T72 resist? Is it running fast?

Well, even from a 30mm cannon, you can beat the observation devices of the tank well. But all this on paper, in fact, I believe, he has very few chances against the tank. And you still need to get to the tanks! It seems to me - even expensive and interesting things will be rolled from it before the front!

You still have to get into them, not a single sane commander will order to open fire on the tank in the forehead, he will fall down from the line of fire and will be right. For objective reasons.
Here's the side 30 mm. you can try, or in the stern, but in the stern it is unlikely because the tanks alone, except in conditions of contamination of the terrain, do not go.

BTR-4E in Iraq powered by a Ketai generator. This is about reliability.

Speaking of reliability, the war is still smoldering in Iraq, and who knows what happened to the car in the photo earlier, the side grille is bent, and the back grille is generally torn off.
Maybe the generator spares engine life.

Rusty and old rubbish. The ancient Batras were removed from conservation and began to sculpt whatever hit him.

On September 25, 2009, a contract was signed for the supply of 420 vehicles to Iraq (270 BTR-4 with the Parus combat module, 80 BTR-4K command vehicles, 30 BTR-4KSh command and staff vehicles, 30 BSEM-4K armored medical vehicles and 10 armored vehicles BREM-4 evacuation vehicles) for a total of $ 457,5 million, the order was paid by the United States.
The first batch of 26 cars was accepted in March 2011 (the party was delayed due to gun problems) and was sent to Iraq on April 20, 2011.
The second batch of armored vehicles in the amount of 62 units was produced in April 2012 and September 12, 2012 - shipped in Odessa for sea transportation to Iraq.
On February 7, 2013, the Iraqi side signed an act of acceptance of the next batch in the amount of 40 BTR-4.
On February 28, 2013, the representative of the Iraqi Parliament’s Security and Defense Commission, Shivan Muhammad Taha, accused the Ukrainian side of disruption in the delivery time and poor quality of products: since the ratification of the contract, about 100 cars have been delivered instead of the 420 ones, and the APCs are “very old, corpses are rusty, cars unsuitable for use. "
On January 2, 2014, the Iraqi side returned to Ukraine a batch of 42 BTR-4, citing the presence of cracks in the corps of armored personnel carriers.
In autumn, the BTR-4 of the Iraqi army participated in battles with ISIS (in particular, on October 24, 2014 - in battles for the city of Jurf Al-Nasr).
The Iraqi military, who received a batch of 88 Ukrainian armored personnel carriers BTR-4, were able to start only 56 vehicles, but only 34 of them started to move. This is stated in a letter sent to Ukrboronprom by the former head of Ukrspetsexport A. Kovalenko from July 28, 2014.
Kazakhstan - May 3, 2012 announced the signing of an agreement on the joint production of 100 BTR-4, but production has not been started. May 21, 2014 announced the return of a test copy of the BTR-4 to the Ukrainian side to eliminate deficiencies in the complaint.
Indonesia - the supply of five armored personnel carriers BTR-4-M, manufactured at the GP Kharkov Engineering Design Bureau named after Morozov, part of the Ukroboronprom Group of Companies, took place under the contract signed in 2014 between Spetstehnoexport and the Ministry of Defense of Indonesia.

Dear, do not write nonsense. I am a tank engineer. I touched the "bucephalus" with my own hands and was inside, during the exhibition on Mikhailovskaya Square, in my opinion in 2015. There from your statements, only the word APC matches.
Yes, he is not perfect, but he is, this is a step forward, and not to the side, like our attempt at a "sprout" type. Of the advantages, I can immediately note the convenience of embarking and disembarking, especially when April was put in the stern. Try to bring the wounded into the armored personnel carrier 70, 80. Try to leave the wounded car during frontal shelling!
Outdoor water cannons can also be attributed to the pluses, it is easier to change from when repairing.
Well, protection, along the way, is more reliable. I remember a manual from the school, riddled with automatic bursts of armored personnel carriers 70 from Afgan. I have not yet seen a photo of such a sieve from the "bucephalus". And the Iraqi order can be procrastinated indefinitely. Only a few dozen are still fighting there ...

Despite a few were lost in 2014, and damaged throughout the war, they showed themselves better than the same three. And they could get out of the shelling and save people.
The fact that there are imported parts is the same Deutz together Ukrainian is easily explained (quieter, more economical, more powerful, more reliable) that it will be more valuable on the battlefield than bring to the battlefield at the cost of life.
Kharkiv people are working on the machine and since 2014 the machine managed to survive a bunch of tweaks and improvements. It was damp in front of Iraq and is now brought under the most severe conditions of war.
The article’s very strange title is BTR -4E, which has long been at the front. But saturation with these BTRs is not so fast. They are more expensive than the three.
