Su-57 will receive a hypersonic explosive rocket BB BD R-37М

The fifth-generation fighter Su-57 will receive the ultra-long-range hypersonic missile R-37М, the Interfax reports with reference to Boris Obnosov, general director of the Tactical Missile Armament Corporation.

Su-57 will receive a hypersonic explosive rocket BB BD R-37М

Long-range air-to-air missile R-37

Responding to a question from a journalist, Obnosov confirmed that the ultra-long-range P-37M rocket will go into service with the Su-57 and added that it will be placed on the external suspension of the aircraft. The rocket is designed to hit high-speed as high-altitude (up to 25 km), and low-flying (up to 15 meters) targets at a distance of more than 300 kilometers. At the same time, in the final stage of the flight, the rocket develops hypersonic speed up to Mach 6. She is currently undergoing a final test cycle.

The Р-37М is a further development of the ultra-long-range missile of the previous generation Р-80 created in 37-s, which was put into service in the 1989 year. Due to the large length of the 4 meter and the weight of the 600 kg, its only carrier was the MiG-31 interceptor.

As it is known from open sources, in order to be able to use the P-37M on the Su-30CM, Su-35 and Su-57 fighters, the rocket length was reduced by 14 cm due to the installation of the head section with a radio transparent fairing of the modified form, as well as reduced its starting weight. Guidance on the target is provided by the fighter’s radar system, as well as by the inertial control system and active radar homing with an integrated high-performance processor.

The rocket can be used in three modes: by preliminary target designation (shot - forgot); inertial guidance mode with correction; reprogramming mode, when the pilot, depending on the conditions, can introduce new data for the onboard computer of the rocket.

In the West, there is the only competitor of the R-37M rocket - the American AIM-120 AMRAAM, which is in service with the fifth-generation F-22 and F-35 aircraft. The declared maximum range of the American missile is 180 km. In addition to the AIM-120 AMRAAM, in service aviation The US Navy used to have an AIM-54 Phoenix long-range missile (range up to 200 kilometers), but after the F-2006 Tomcat fighters, which are the only Phoenix carriers, were removed from the US Navy in 14, only Iran left rockets.

Also in service, the Su-57 in the future can be put a bombs "Drill" - planning bomb cassette caliber 500 kg in equipment with self-targeting combat elements.

Su-57 is a fifth-generation Russian multi-purpose fighter designed to destroy all types of air targets in long-range and close combat, destroy enemy ground, surface targets with overcoming enemy air defense systems, monitor airspace at large distances from the base, destroy the action control system enemy aviation.

KUBINKA / Moscow region /, August 22. / TASS /. The Russian Ministry of Defense and PJSC Sukhoi signed on Wednesday a contract for the supply of two fifth-generation Su-57 fighters to the armed forces, a TASS correspondent reports from the conference hall of the Army-2018 forum.

The terms of the contract are 2018-2020.
This means that by the end of 19 they will put the first one ... in Lipetsk ..... there they will work out the methods of combat use, with the issuance of recommendations .... on one machine it will take ... a lot of time, even if 20 will put the second.
But until they come to the topic - "the use of missiles", the rocket must be ready soldier

Serega, I think that they will transplant flyers with the SU-35 and, accordingly, the application methodology, flight time, etc. should be less than if they were transplanted from the 27th ... after all, even the cabins at the 35th and 57th identical, which in theory should facilitate the development of a new machine.

Neither AMRAAM nor Phoenix are the 37th Emke competitors even close, neither in range nor in speed. In general, mankind did nothing similar to this BB explosive database, there were only attempts — our KS-172, and so far the unfinished Chinese analogue of KS-172, but they do not hold out.

On August 2, Deputy Prime Minister Borisov answered this question NEVER. Neither the T-14 Armata tank, nor the T-15 Boomerang TBMP, nor the Su-57 will be accepted into service because of the prohibitively high cost.
So, from 57 to 7 billion dollars have already been spent on the development (!) Of the Su-10, excluding the development of weapons for it. Only 10 samples were built. So calculate the cost. The same applies to the armor of the vehicle. It is cheaper to upgrade the T-72, within $ 1 million, than to build the T-14. As for the T-15, it is not at all commensurate with the modernization of the BMP-1 to the capabilities of the BMP-2, the replacement of the turret with a 30 mm cannon, the ATGM name "Basurmanin". It looks like even the release of the BMP-3 was suspended.
      That something like this.

And here, a little, a little quieter - no one, even hang out and suppose - should not know this technology. Do you want a hint? - for example - any sample has a mount, well, or there is a part - take two parts spaced at any distance - each will have its own inductance and act on one another. That's it - the radar can analyze the distance between them (naturally, its subtleties) - to whom it can read, two ordinary parts spaced at a certain distance and emitting a self. This is purely an example.

What are the GOS, I know better than most of those present here. I have written a series of articles on this topic. Nevertheless, if the R-37M air-to-air class, then my question about target designation disappears, but the article says "The missile is designed to engage high-speed targets at a distance of more than 300 kilometers." Not "air targets"but just"high-speed targets "... Therefore, the question remains valid: "how will it seek the target at such a distance and at such a speed"? The laser disappears immediately as there are no optics in the photo. Optical and thermal guidance disappears also for the same reason. Remains radar or something completely new. Again, radar guidance to a ground target of an air-to-ground missile is ineffective due to the terrible contrast of the target, and at a distance of 300 km is not realistic at all. request

The Su-57 should have been in service for a long time, even with the engine of the first stage so far, like this missile. Russia does not have it later, the tension around the borders of Russia and in Syria is going on now, and in order to cool hotheads from provocations that can spontaneously lead to the Third World, modern weapons are needed now. Either spend money and live without wars, or save and wait for further provocations with unpredictable consequences. They don’t save on safety. It is terrible to read statements from above when they say that by 2020 only two production aircraft SU-57 etc. will be released. And I have an adequate question, our country is in the forefront in the world in the export of natural resources. Where's the money? why are they not enough for the defense industry? who doesn’t steal, thereby reducing the country's security?

    1. +2
      26 September 2018 17: 02
Why "how"? The S-400 has such a good radar. For example, an F-16 or even an F-35 enters, as usual, from the west, from the island of Cyprus. He sees his radar from Khmeimim, but an unidentified plane launches a rocket from the direction of Egypt or Crete. That will be a laugh.
      1. -5
        26 September 2018 18: 59
There will be laughter. As the rocket flies, its target also moves quickly. Therefore, an explosive rocket must be continuously guided by an airplane radar (a strong S-400 radar will not help in this case). A plane’s radar does not see 300 km. Therefore, for an explosive rocket such a maximum range does not make practical sense. Unlike air-to-surface missiles, flying toward a stationary target.

300 km, this is the declared maximum speed ... She has, I understand, an active seeker. Target designation can be from AWACS or ground radars. The fighter does not have to "turn on" itself. And at the final stage - his head grabs. Alexey, you ... do not include it ... !!!!;))))) "It is called - launch by external target designation" - this is the most often described version of the WB F-35 against enemy fighters, and there are even cartoons!
      1. -3
        26 September 2018 22: 56
From the AWACS aircraft, you can get the target data at the time of the launch: coordinates, course, speed. Their AWACS aircraft can be transferred to an aircraft launching a rocket just before launch.
But still need mid-course updates. Correction during the flight. Her AWAC can not give. If the target has changed altitude or course, the missile will miss. And this is a very expensive, heavy rocket.
Therefore, 300 km is fantastic. Now they shoot from 20-40 km and sometimes they miss.
And the Americans will not let their AMRAAM in life from 180, but will get closer to the real 40-60 km

Alexey. It's hard to judge anything by this article at all. It's just general informational and it's not a fact that there are facts in it!: 0 I agree, it is necessary to introduce an amendment at such a range: for this there is a radio command unit in it (like air defense missiles). reducing the probability of a miss, in the event the target leaves the illumination zone, and a high speed of approach of the rocket was made with the goal of >> Mach 6. The target will not have time to leave the probable zone, where the AGSN missile should "find the target". This feature should work well when used as interceptors in a country's air defense system, for example. Against strategists, tankers, AWACS and Airborne No. 1, if Trump decides that he is a superhero)))) The range of the extreme radar and modern ground radar should be enough in principle. 300 km is the maximum limit; in reality, launches will be made closer. The missile is expensive and large, and no one will carry it for maneuverable inter-fighter battles. But this is my speculation, no more

I don’t understand why she should: "at the final stage of the flight, the rocket develops a hypersonic speed of up to Mach 6" if a maneuverable target needs to be shot down due to greater maneuverability and resistance to overloads? Or will the same drlo begin to skiddle with a speed of 2m?
    1. 0

Nothing has been written about maneuvering targets; do not think up on the go. A high-speed target and a high-speed rocket are on an equal footing, both at high speeds inevitably deteriorate maneuverability, but interception is carried out initially with a lead, the rocket already has an advantage in knowing the course and speed of the target.

This novelty has been known for a long time. https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A0-37
The fact that she has a decent range pleases, but with a hypersound, not everything is clear. As stated in many sources, hypersound it develops at the final stage. But after all, it is at this stage that the enemy's plane can detect the radiation of the GOS of the rocket and begin a sharp evasive maneuver, and the maneuver of the rocket on the hypersound is more limited than at lower speeds by permissible overloads.
The question arises of why hypersound is needed there, especially since it makes the rocket itself more noticeable and more blind due to the heating of its environment and other days of the week? In general, the craze for the fashionable word "hypersound" and attempts to stick it wherever they go, raise great doubts. After all, initially missile weapons capable of flying at hypersonic speeds were conceived in order to reach the enemy as quickly as possible, including the leaders of the terrorists who are at a decent distance from the place where they created the Skoda, so as not to let them leave while slower missiles reach them. It was understood that maneuvering on hypersound is not the most important thing. the barmalei do not have modern air defense / missile defense systems

I don’t understand why to install such a missile on the Su-57. After all, this aircraft is considered the fifth generation. And one of the signs of belonging to this generation of combat aircraft is stealth. And the presence of such a rocket on the external slider simply crosses out this sign. Moreover, this missile is designed by its characteristics to intercept long-range targets. And for this there is a MiG-31, its modifications and its future development.
