The American magazine called the Russian mortar 2B25 "Gall" "silent death"

44
Russian special forces are adopting the 2B25 "Gall" mortar, which strikes enemy forces silently. Under heavy fire "silent death" enemy troops can not determine where the mines are flying from, and there can be no talk of a counterattack, RIA News material of the American edition of Drive.

Американский журнал назвал российский миномет 2Б25 "Галл" "тихой смертью"

According to the author of the material, the Russian 82-millimeter mortar 2B25 "Gall" entered into service with special forces units. It is designed to defeat enemy personnel and fires "with small mines flying completely silently." Noiselessness of the shot is achieved by using a special piston in the mortar design, which locks the gases when fired at the shank. Also, the author especially notes that when fired from this mortar, there is no smoke and no shock wave is created. This is the "silent death," adds the author of the material.

The mortar rate is 15 shots per minute, but if necessary, the rate of fire can be increased to 30. The publication notes that at this rate of fire, and given that the shooting is silent, the enemy will not be able to understand where the mines are coming from. The disadvantage, according to the author, is a small radius of destruction of the mortar - the maximum firing range does not exceed 1,2 thousands of meters.

2B25 "Gall" - Russian silent wearable 82-mm mortar. The main purpose is to defeat the enemy both in open areas and in field type shelters. Fire can be fought from both open and closed positions.

The 82-mm mine is not the most powerful, it will not take a stationary object, only a temporary shelter or AT / BT, or open infantry. For an accurate hit you need 2-3 shots with adjustment. They will scatter from the temporary shelter, the vehicles will scatter, the infantry will immediately fall down. And what for it was necessary? laughing In stagnant times, such problems were not solved by the Special Staff (as of right now, not in the know). It is, rather, for ODSHBr. drinks

I think secrecy is more important for the special forces - so as not to give out one's position.

I did not understand the principle of action: at the end of the shank, the plumage means all this flies out of the trunk, so there must be a mechanical push of the piston into the base plate. The second option: the shank remains in the barrel like a sleeve, does the piston push the mine out and jam at the top of the shank?

an interesting name, how could this come to our name-holders from the Ministry of Justice and call a gun the name of a people that is already 1000 years old, as it does not exist according to TI? Amazing things are happening, can it be better to call the Etruscan?

Etruscan is also a good name. For 120 mm will do.

The special forces take up positions, and the mortar crew begins to hollow with these silent mines. The enemy does not understand in horror. After the first mine, she just tries to understand what is happening and then another mine arrives, the panic begins to run around. hamsters. As an option. at this time, the calculation collects a mortar and together carry out a withdrawal or a change of position.

So what? It's wearable. It's not "Nona" after all. I remember there was a video about mortars in the form of sapper blades. So there I think the main thing was to shoot at the enemy's trench, or, at the enemy, approaching your trench.

A mortar is generally an unpleasant thing when "according to you". But this! We have pistols with a gas cut-off in the sleeve (PSS), but thinking of making it on the same principle MINIMUM, well, just "five with a plus" for the idea ... it's special forces ... You approach enemy warehouses without reaching the KSP, and aiming, with feeling, with sense ... DREAM! Now come true ...

      Many Ostap bears ...
Where is the spectrum of its application; what is it better than RPG (considering sighting); Is it really necessary for special forces (given the various kilograms, and just grams in long-distance raids?
      Special Forces = attack tool.
Mortar = weapons in the main. defense and support.

        Well, let's speculate)
The aiming range of the RPG-7, as far as I remember, is 300m when a remote fuse is triggered at 700m. Somehow, both are less than 1200m ... Further: Have you ever fired from an RPG? Loud, in my opinion, especially at a distance of even 700m. Plus a flash and other unmasking factors. Not an option for DRGs. So a silent mortar can allow you to quietly come, destroy everything and leave unnoticed. It is simply not known where the "gifts" are flying from

It’s better than RPG so that you can shoot from a shelter without a sortie. For example, Nasyp in Syria.

the meaning of mortar weapons is like firing from cover, a trench, a hill, etc. and so on for cover - that is, secretly, this mortar 100% realizes the secrecy of artillery fire. But how did you gather the RPG to get somewhere - at least from a distance of 500 meters, and then all the ballistic weapons - the mine will fly exactly where you aim - well, except for a small drift by the wind.

Sapper blades - mortars: first-class byaka. Shirokorad has a detailed description of this nonsense. He cites the example of a wholesale campaigner who, while testing this "weapon", thought of putting it in the stomach and, as a result, ended up in the hospital. Once a front-line soldier told me about him: the moderator will not allow to bring the "enthusiasm" of an eyewitness.

Guys, it’s a pity it’s not said how much the mines weigh, they brought everything on themselves, quietly shot and went home quietly. ! But it has become a reality! Well, the mortar itself is an ordinary pipe and that's it. Chip in the mine. I wonder if it is possible to do something like Cornflower under this mine? Or, on this principle, make ammunition for LNG. MTR-cam would definitely come in handy.
