The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the facts of strikes by Russian aircraft against targets in the Syrian province of Idlib. As stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, four Russian aircraft on Tuesday attacked targets of the Dzhebkhat al-Nusra terrorist group banned in Russia.
According to the Russian military department, on Tuesday, Russian planes that took off from the Khmeimim air base launched precision-guided munitions strikes at terrorist targets in the province of Idlib. The blow was inflicted on warehouses with dronesused by terrorists, including for attacks on the Khmeimim air base, as well as identified areas for launching drones in the direction of the Russian air base. It is noted that objects located outside the settlements were hit. The strikes were carried out by Russian Su-34 bombers.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense reports that on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the terrorists once again tried to inflict damage on the Russian Khmeimim airbase with the help of launched UAVs. At night, two UAVs tried to get close to the base, but were found at a considerable distance from it and destroyed by regular anti-aircraft weapons. There are no victims and destructions, the base is operating normally.
A total of August 47 UAV terrorists who tried to get to the base were destroyed.
