This year 12 international military exercises will be held on the territory of Ukraine
This is stated in the Decree of the President of Ukraine of 22 April this year. “On the admission of units of the armed forces of other countries to the territory of Ukraine in 2011 year to participate in multinational military exercises”, the text of which is published on the website of the head of state.
In accordance with the document, in the current year, the units of the armed forces of foreign countries will be admitted to the territory of Ukraine in order to participate in military exercises common with the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of military cooperation:
The Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation (up to 200 servicemen with regular small arms) for a period of up to 14 days in June-October within the framework of the Ukrainian-Belarusian-Russian exercises;
The Republic of Poland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Estonia, the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Hungary (up to 400 military personnel with regular small arms and military equipment) for a period of up to 14 days in July-September within the framework of multinational Exercises "Cossack Steppe - 2011";
Romania, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Croatia, the United States of America (up to 150 military personnel with standard small arms and up to 2 transport aircraft) for a period of up to 14 days in May – September within the framework of the multinational exercise “The Rotational Forces of the Black Sea Region-2011”;
Romania (up to 30 servicemen with regular small arms) for up to 8 days in June - November within the framework of the Ukrainian-Romanian exercises;
The Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Poland, the Russian Federation, Romania, the Republic of Lithuania, the Kingdom of Norway, the United States of America, the Republic of Hungary, the Czech Republic (up to 250 military personnel with standard small arms, up to 2 ships, up to 8 aircraft and helicopters ) for a period of up to 25 days in August - October within the framework of the multinational exercises "Jackal Stone-2011";
The Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Poland, the Russian Federation, Romania, the Republic of Lithuania, the Kingdom of Norway, the United States of America, the Republic of Hungary, the Czech Republic (up to 150 military personnel with standard small arms and military equipment, 1 ship, up to 3 aircraft and helicopters) 1, 2 and 3 phases up to 20 days each in June - September as part of the multinational exercises “Barrier - 2011”;
United States (up to 750 military personnel with standard small arms, up to 2 ships, up to 2 aircraft, up to 4 helicopters, up to 50 wheeled vehicles) and member states of the Partnership for Peace Program (up to 400 military men with regular small arms, up to 15 ships, up to 3 submarines, up to 4 helicopters) for a period of up to 30 days in June - October as part of the Ukrainian-American exercises "Sea Breeze-2011";
The Russian Federation (up to 200 military personnel, up to 10 ships and ships, up to 5 airplanes and helicopters) for a period up to 7 days in May-August as part of the Ukrainian-Russian exercise "Fairway of the World - 2011";
US (up to 150 military personnel, up to 8 combat aircraft, up to 2 transport aircraft) and the Republic of Poland (up to 6 combat aircraft) for up to 20 days in June - September as part of the Ukrainian-American-Polish Sky Safe 2011 exercise;
Of the Republic of Belarus (up to 10 airplanes) for a period of up to 2 days in April - October within the framework of the Ukrainian-Belarusian exercises with the involvement of air force on-duty forces;
Of the Russian Federation (up to 10 aircraft) for a period of up to 2 days in April - October as part of the Ukrainian-Russian exercises involving air defense forces on duty.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is charged with ensuring timely admission and withdrawal from the territory of the country of units of the armed forces of other states, as well as the safety of citizens of Ukraine and other states during military exercises.
Responsibility for the preparation and conduct of multinational military exercises on the territory of Ukraine in 2011 is entrusted to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
22 April 2011, the President, on the basis of a decision of the Council of National Security and Defense, signed the Decree “On the admission of units of the armed forces of other states to the territory of Ukraine in 2011 to participate in multinational military exercises” and sent it as an urgent matter to the Verkhovna Rada for extraordinary consideration.
Recall, the Verkhovna Rada approved the admission of units of the armed forces of foreign countries on the territory of Ukraine to participate in multinational military exercises in the 2011 year.
