For Russian fleet laid the head large hydrographic boat-catamaran of the new generation of project 23370G, reports press office Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.





By order of the commander-in-chief of the Navy, Vladimir Korolev, the boat was named after Mikhail Kazan, an outstanding hydrograph who participated in laying the “Roads of Life” on Ladoga.

The hydrographic boat of the 23370 project is designed to carry out pilotage and hydrographic work, staging (shooting) and maintenance of floating warning signs, the release says.

Its functional duties also include the delivery of repair crews, maintenance personnel, fuel, food and other goods to onshore facilities of navigation equipment, including those located on the unequipped coast.

The boat will be able to quickly measure the depths in places where the signs are floating with the help of an echo sounder.

A series of three boats will be built at the KAMPO enterprise located near Moscow in accordance with a three-year government contract. It is noted that the design of boats were taken into account all the most modern requirements of the Main Command of the Navy to the vessels of this type.



According to the press service, the modular boat of the 23370G project was developed to develop the 23370 project. Ships of this project are built on KAMPO for the fleet's search and rescue forces. The displacement of the boat - about 140 t.

All boats of this series will receive the names of famous Russian pendants.
