Exoskeleton, Invisibility Helmet and Robots: “Army-18” as an indicator of the development of the military-industrial complex

The annual Army-2018 military-technical forum started in Russia, which, in fact, can be called a kind of indicator of the development of the national military-industrial complex. As part of the event, defense enterprises of the Russian Federation demonstrate the most advanced developments, oriented both to the near future and to the long-term perspective.

It is reported that at least 150 of the latest and conceptual models of equipment will be demonstrated at the forum, and the company is already preparing for a series of equipment that has been talked about for a long time - equipment on the Armata platform, Su-57 with the Dagger, BTR- 87 etc. - make humanoid Robots, exoskeletons and even “invisible equipment”.

Innovative camouflage coating was represented by holdings "Roselectronica" and "TsNIItochmash." The capabilities of the technology were demonstrated by the example of a soldier’s helmet. According to the developer, the electrically-controlled material can change color depending on the terrain landscape and weather conditions, which makes equipment almost invisible.

The material can be used to disguise soldiers and equipment. It is expected that the elements with innovative coating will be included in the equipment of the "soldier of the future." Speaking about equipping the soldiers of the future, in recent years there has been a broad discussion of developments that help increase the physical capabilities of a fighter - exoskeletons. At the same time, the Army-2018 was no longer a concept, but a very specific prototype that had been tested in power structures.

The exoskeleton is made of carbon fiber and is a hinged-lever mechanism, the task of which is to unload the soldier’s musculoskeletal system, primarily during combat operations and long marches. The option presented at the forum is autonomous, since it does not have servo drives and, accordingly, power sources, however, as noted by Rostec, there is also an active complete set of the exoskeleton. The only negative - it weighs twice as much.

In turn, the Kalashnikov concern, which traditionally surprises the public at military-technical forums, showed a number of promising models of equipment, including an anthropomorphic robot and an army buggy. The “Igorek” robot, which was immediately compared with the robot guard from the “Robocop” film, will be used to solve engineering and combat tasks, and next year the group representatives promised to show the development of this program. Recall that last year Kalashnikov demonstrated two robotic platforms, the Companion and the Freeloader, which caused a serious interest among the defense ministry.

And yet, most of the equipment presented at the Army 2018 is what the army can count on today. This is equipment on the Unified Armata platform at the head of the T-14, the production of which will still be small-scale. Updated BMB T-15, which acquired a new combat module and anti-tank systems. "Octopus", which after the last transformation can be safely called easy a tank, BTR-87, which became the logical conclusion of the line of proven and reliable armored personnel carriers, the latest armored vehicles, such as the Tiger, Wolf and the Bear, a number of reconnaissance and attack unmanned vehicles, electronic warfare systems and much, much more.

There is no doubt that until August 26, Army-2018 will present to the guests of the forum and, obviously, the specialists of the competing powers that follow the event still have a lot of surprises, because, as you know, the most interesting thing is held in the end.

Scandinavians do the same. Ayayayay. All countries that have oil and gas sell them unprocessed. Well, except for such as the Republic of Belarus where oil is simply not enough for refining immediately.

The monstrous size of the deep oil refining complex in Kirishi was clearly a fan of me. And these strange Europeans, who for some reason want to preserve their processing capacities, and not destroy them to please the Russian uncle, they also do not exist. With their "energy packages", mutual agreements and the possibility at any time to stifle our oil exports for their own benefit.
For some, just to blurt out something ...

Of course, of course, they don’t need oil, and gas even more so.

Dear, are you sure? Yes, all sorts of exoskeletons and robots are a show, an enticement of the audience. However, to get all kinds of dual-purpose equipment in the West is nothing.

The exoskeleton is definitely not window dressing. It is used not only in the army. Medicine at least needs and uses them. There is nothing supernatural and that which we do not have. Do not be afraid of a cool word, it is relatively simple.

Want. I want an exoskeleton. And I’ll pay for it when it appears on sale. What, nafig, entertainment? If it is correctly designed, it will at least significantly increase the radius of walking movement. Really want to!

Storytellers, or rather science fiction writers in the style of fantasy. Which is very sad for us. We would have more "primitive" techies of the Stalin era, and not talkers from an advanced herd of insatiable menager, such as D. Rogozin with his talented offspring.

What I don’t know, I don’t know. Somehow we left the girl, smart. I had the bosses, i.e. to finish me. Everything was practically ready for the first exhibition, but the price of attendance was high. Our hobby is communication systems. However, now is not about that.

About 15 meters away from me - young people, explosives (or sappers from the FSB). Their robots were small - an armored car on wires - this is important, and 2 manipulators on it. Degrees of freedom - grab / release and circular rotation. Every evening a show for lovely ladies began: one of the "volunteers" bought 0,5 beer in glass in one of the buffets.
            - The first act - a bottle (glass) was captured by one of the manipulators, both legs are straight, like a rasp, similar grips, with one paw held, the other opened;
            - Act two, a plastic cup was carefully taken, it filled with a second manipulator.

Stormy and prolonged applause! Year 2006-2007. Purely personally, I could not manage so masterfully through something like joysticks.

The truth is that everything shown at the exhibition will never go into series. Even finished samples. At least for the time being this regime will remain in power. Since Russia is a bankrupt state, it cannot even scrape up its citizens even when retired.
But if, nevertheless, they find money for new tanks and robots, and they leave the pensioners poor with a pension after 65, then this will be a crime of power against their people. Since the poor people do not need robots.

Lying. Healthy criticism (not to be confused with criticism!) Is a natural defense mechanism of the state (like pain in the body, it hurts - it means that something is damaged). "12 Chairs", "The Golden Calf" by Ilf and Petrov is a rather evil satire. But they were not banned or shot. And just projectors and dreamers were put against the wall at public expense.

In Russia, not a people's republic, but an ordinary capitalist system. Therefore, you can interpret actions only as a crime against the state, and not against the people. But the authorities do not go against the state.

Well, bankrupt is an exaggeration, but the fact that they won’t give money to launch a series of these developments is for sure.
The so-called "effective managers" who have been put in charge of the defense industry either do not understand at all what they are doing or do it on purpose.
Vaughn, our "deeply disrespected" comrade Borisov said that modern technology in our army is not needed, because it is expensive, but money is a pity. SU-57 was turned off, it's expensive. Cheaper than SU-30,35. T-14 and everything else on the Armata platform is expensive, the T-72 will do too,
And the fact that this technique will become obsolete in the next 5-7 years, he does not care. But we’ll save money (it’ll fall into our own pocket).
But for sale - for God's sake.
I am not a supporter of the methods of Stalin, but the current situation and most importantly its consequences in the future make us think.

"The SU-57 was turned down, it's expensive. Cheaper than the SU-30,35." As a former Air Force officer, I somewhat agree with those who believe that the SU-57 is unreasonably expensive and not a very necessary toy. In my opinion, the MiG-31 is still the best option, although it seems already "old man". But he has excellent performance characteristics: it develops a speed of Mach 3, is able to reach the stratosphere, etc. If we add to this the already existing new "stuffing" and new weapons, then it still has no equal, and it is capable of performing modern combat missions no worse than the advertised foreign "newest models". The price-quality ratio is optimal. While. And then we'll see.

The most reliable and effective weapon is the soldiers and officers themselves, their high professionalism, multiplied by patriotism and readiness for self-sacrifice. Plus a clear policy of the authorities, the ability to explain unpopular measures, convincingly prove their necessity in the given historical conditions. Plus the presence of certain moral qualities, a kind of "internal moral core" for most members of society. Without all this, any of the latest technology is just rubbish, a potential trophy for the enemy. I know many who today loudly "grieve" over the collapse of the USSR, accuse "agents of influence", Gorbach, Yeltsin, the CIA, the FBI and others, although at that time he himself supported it, shouted that our "rotten scoop" is the state of a survivor from the minds of the elderly and moronic party elite, blinkered by their communist dogmas, which can only be gotten rid of by breaking up the alliance. And many people shared this opinion. Of course, the 5th column and the propaganda paid for by some subjects also made their "contribution", but the "external factor" was still not the main one. Indeed, partly the brainless and partly treacherous policy of the country's leadership was the main factor that did its job. Few of us then were ready to fight and sacrifice ourselves for the salvation of the USSR, and even more so, to fight with "civilized countries" who wish us only well. And in such conditions, the country will not be saved by any military equipment. God forbid that today with our brains does not happen what happened to them then

So you wrote something like the right things, but which fundamentally do not work in modern realities.
    1. High professionalism of soldiers - who serve only a year, and even then under duress?
    2. Willingness with self-sacrifice - for what or whom? In order for Russia to continue to remain a backward and reactionary country or for the sake of the wealth of our oligarchs, since nothing belongs to the people.
    3. By unpopular measures, did you obviously mean pension reform? So this is not a measure - it is simply the genocide of the Russian people in the given historical conditions.
Now about the analogy with the collapse of the USSR. Then, too, no one wanted to live in that already hopeless state. Although there was still much patriotism and readiness for self-sacrifice.
In modern Russia, everything is much worse !!! Since having the same rotten state as the USSR at sunset, we no longer have patriotism and the desire to sacrifice. Since sacrificing oneself for the power of oligarchs and thieves will only be crazy.

Why not? At one time, the Office, through third countries, carried out an operation to "buy out" in Japan a CNC machine for the production of propellers for our nuclear powered submarines. They brought it in, launched it and "the process started," the noise level of our submarines dropped sharply. The scandal behind "Bugr" was amazing!
Well, how things are now in the former Office, I don't know. Well, to the extreme, you can send Rosguard over the "line" to beat off technology with clubs. laughing
