The Turkish self-propelled gun Yavuz was officially unveiled last year at the international IDEF 2017 arms exhibition, when a static prototype of a self-propelled artillery mount was presented at a static exposition. Howitzer in its layout and parameters is almost identical to the French SAU CAESAR.
The Yavuz ACS is a semi-automatic howitzer mounted on the chassis of an SUV truck with 6 × 6 wheel formula. Caliber 155 mm, rate of fire at least 4 – 6 shots per minute, barrel length - 52 caliber. The ammunition of "all" 18 shells, although the French counterpart has twice the number - 36 shots. It can use NATO 155-mm projectiles, as well as active-rocket ammunition over a distance of over 40 km.
The crew of the self-propelled howitzer is 5 people, the mass of SAU is about 30 tons and depends on the degree of reservation of the cabin.
