Myth or reality: will the Kalash break through the rail?

10
About the legendary weapons always make up legends. Around him there are many different rumors and tales. A vivid example of this is the Kalashnikov assault rifle, the most famous automatic rifle in the world, the pride of the Soviet defense industry. One legend says that an AK cartridge pierces a railway rail through and through. Is it so?

First, a few comments.

The statement itself about breaking a rail by any AK is fundamentally wrong. Initially, it was about the AKM, whose cartridge has a caliber 7,62x39 mm. Later modifications of the machine used already 5,45х39 mm.

AKM punched not the sole, and even more so not the rail head, but its neck, that is, its thinnest part. Moreover, in the USSR, rails were made with a neck thickness in 12 mm, in modern Russia it has been increased to 18 mm.

And finally: the neck of the rail was pierced only with an armor-piercing cartridge. The ordinary one left practically no trace on it.

Channel WarGonzo decided to test several samples of small arms for the possibility of breaking through a standard railway rail.

And it breaks through the video and it depends only on the cartridge, which means it’s right that they show it because people still don’t know.

Yes, I heard about this back in the 70s that Kalash punched the neck of the rail - from 7 meters. I didn’t feel it myself, but now I saw it clearly!

How many times have I watched this "Wargonzo" I still can't get rid of some strange feeling. And why is the name so? Is it for English-speaking viewers? Do not tell .... Delirium from the very name as an idea. From some kind of "Botanical cardboardness" of what is happening and even the ability to move in the host's frame as dystrophics is not even funny, because he gives himself away as a "tough pepper". "Look what a terrible machine I have and I'm cool in a vest" is about the urge. This is how the boys who grew up following shooting games decided to shoot for real. That's just not for the sake of defending the fatherland, hunting, shooting weapons, checking its characteristics, but somehow absolutely moronic, shooting along the rails (just an example), throwing grenades into the aquarium. It is clear that the nerdy game has an exclusively selfish basis, but I wonder how poorly copied concoction from "Mythbusters", "Destructive Ranch", and many, many others, mainly YouTube channels filming weapons-themed videos, is. But how moronic are the themes and productions. Explain to me why throw a grenade into the aquarium? And with fish? A cat licking from it? After cleaning the aquarium or before cleaning? Real glass or plexiglass? But really ... well, what will happen? ... .... And it will be this. This is a representative of a generation that has nothing to do with real life. Their entire semi-fantasy children's world is full of cliches from movies and games with YouTube. They really do not know and do not understand well what will happen if you put a "grenade in an aquarium" How did the Russian youth turn from the most reading and intelligent youth in the world into something like this? It's sad to look at degradation, it's very sad.

Just reintroducing the NVP course in schools, putting the former professionals as teachers, and the vast majority of questions will be removed by itself.

And I do not agree with you, Tracer. Let the younger generation be better interested in such things than drugs, vodka, smoking and empty burning of life.

and off the rail ... they are different.
some will not break even in the neck.
